Blueberry is simply lazing around enjoying the sun when he feels talons pull him up. He's lead to the royal pavilion, where Queen Baobab looks down on him scathingly. A confused Ebony watches from the bushes.
Queen Baobab immediately launches into screeching accusations of treachery and traitorous and all other similar words. When Blueberry asks what she means she screams about his meet up with one of those treacherous lightshows of a dragon- a SeaWing. Lime creeps up Blueberry's scales as he thinks back to his most recent meeting with Current.
As he's blabbering excuses, Queen Baobab curtly nods at a RainWing with black and silver scales, who promptly unhinges his jaw, a harsh jet of black venom spraying all over Blueberry.
Ebony watches in horror, Aurora crouched silently at their side with round eyes, as Blueberry writhes screeching on the ground. Calamity quietly covers their eyes with one wing, wrapping up Aurora in the other, as Opalescent watches grimly and Entropy makes himself busy until Blueberry stills.
That, Baobab spits, is the punishment for daring to meet with those treacherous other tribes. This confirms what had been a lingering doubt in Ebony's mind. Their mother wasn't cruel like this- she was friendly, and encouraging, and until a few months ago she'd welcomed other tribes with open wings.
No, this confirmed it all- something was wrong with their mother. And maybe the other queens as well.
Rumours reach Current that the RainWing Blueberry has passed away.
Opalescent and Calamity decide to get married!
Owl and Sandstorm decide to get married!
Owl nervously approaches Candor, ready to share the news. She shivers under her mother's blank stare, trying to blabber out the meant to be happy news. Sandstorm stands beside her quietly.
As she manages to whisper the news, Candor's head snaps sideways as she lunges for Sandstorm. Owl, horrified, tries to intervene, but it's a bloody fight.
In the end, Candor is left with a large tear in her right wing and Sandstorm's left eye is horribly scratched up. Candor screams at Owl to get out, get out, get out. That she's a traitor.
Owl is confused for a moment- this is nothing like the mother who raised her- but panic overrides this as she helps Sandstorm out of the door and they flee to a safe spot a few miles from the palace.
The wound on Sandstorm's eye heals quickly without issue, but it soon becomes apparent that her vision will never quite be the same again.
Sandstorm is now blind in her left eye.
One month remains until Firefly and Topaz's eggs hatch!
