Charlie was on his daily walk which was something he did everyday even though it was quite late at night and was also pitch black out he didn't care,he had his AirPods in so he was okay.

After what felt like miles of walking he ended up at the mini mart where he immediately clocked eyes on kyler who didn't notice Charlie he was too focused on some kid he was trying to fight.

"I-I didn't know you guys were trying to buy beer!" The unfamiliar voice protested sticking his hands up to try calm the other boys down.

"I'm sorry!" The boy who was wearing a red and grey hoodie said while he stumbled backwards onto the grass.

Charlie was hiding well enough so none of them saw him but he was in two minds to jump out and stop the situation from escalating.

One of the other boys took the boys bag pulling out some sort of pink drink.

"Hey! It's for my grandma!" The boy said

"For your grandma?" One of the boys said raising a brow before pouring it all over him.

"Hey we should call him rhea!" One of the boys said with a laugh.

Charlie was furious and was close to standing up when he was moving about behind the leaves kyler clocked on.

"Someone's here." Kyler said and looked at Miguel "who else is here?"

"N-no one!" Miguel stuttered "I don't know anyone!"

Charlie shut his eyes for a minute before he stood up and approached them "leave the boy alone kyler."

"Oh look it's the little gay boy!" Kyler explained a laugh could be heard from him"got a little crush do we Charlie?" He pouted.

Charlie rolled his eyes and crossed his arms "do you really think this is fun? Beating up some kids for the fun of it?" He scoffed.

Kyler and his crew knew exactly who Charlie was and they hated him.

Charlie didn't have many friends,he wasn't popular and wasn't in the 'catchment' for popular at all.

Unlike his sister who everyone knew and everyone also knew how he was her little brother and it makes everything ten times worse.

"Why not you just, stop acting like a pussy gay boy" kyler said pushing his chest slightly.

Charlie clenched his fists trying not to get angry and throw a punch at kyler bur with the way he was treating this boy he didn't even know and the fact he was trying to start on him made him really mad.

"That's it" Charlie mumbled before throwing a punch right to his face making kyler stumble backwards a little.

"You little-" kyler said before pushing Charlie back into some old looking car.

"Watch the car man!" A middle aged blonde haired man said standing up from the steps.

Charlie stepped back with Miguel while this guy got into an outraged fight with kyler and his goons it was funny to watch though from the outside that was until the cops came.

"I'm sorry about kyler.." Charlie said "I'm Charlie " he smiled

The boy nodded "Miguel."

"Well.. I better get going, you gonna be okay?" He raised his brow.

Miguel nodded and smiled "I'll be fine."

Charlie soon got home putting his keys on the counter taking out his AirPod when he saw his dad on the couch "hey dad." He smiled.

"You okay son?" Darren asked worriedly.

"I'm fine. Some guy bet up kyler it was so funny" he chuckled.

Darren raised his brow at his son's statement "I mean as much as I hate that boy for how he treats you... that's fucked up."

Charlie shrugged while he put his AirPods back in the case "oh well... I honestly don't get why esme hangs around them."

"Your sister?" Darren raised his brow "if so then I really need to speak to your mother."

"No! I mean... she's not doing anything wrong I didn't even think she knows what they are really like." Charlie admitted

Darren sighed "well you need to talk to her at some point."

He bit his lip"I'd rather not dad."

Darren got closer to his son seeing the bruise on the side of his face "please tell me you weren't involved with whatever happened son.."

Charlie looked down for a moment before he replied"well ...sort of but I have my reasons." He folded his arms against his chest.

Darren groaned face palming himself "Charlie you need to stay out of fights no matter how bad it may be.."

He nodded "I know dad I will... he just really got to me this time.."

Darren raised his brow "do I even wanna know?"

"He called me gay ..I mean is he ever gonna get fed up with it? It's a joke!" Charlie exclaimed.

His father sighed taking a deep breath "look I know you won't like this idea but.. maybe speak to a teacher?"

Charlie laughed "oh yeah dad because it isn't bad enough that I literally only have two friends. No thanks I'll deal with it" Charlie said before walking towards his bedroom.

The following day Charlie wasn't up to much so he decided to face time his friends Demetri and Eli.

"Woah- what happened to your face?" Demetri questioned as soon as he answered Charlie's call.

Charlie rolled his eyes slightly "don't even question it, kyler and his goons started on some boy at the mall."

"So you stuck up for him?" Eli asked

"Well yeah then some old dude beat the shit out of them!" Charlie exclaimed

Demetri laughed "you get yourself in some shit Charlie." He sighed.

"I can't be bothered going back to school man." He sighed "sometimes I wanna just drop out." Charlie said

Demetri and Eli both laughed in sync "yeah dude, don't we all." Demetri said softly

Charlie smiled "this years gonna be different I can feel it... and maybe I'll finally get a boyfriend" he laughed

Demetri raised his brow "keep dreaming my friend,keep dreaming."

Noises could be heard in the background from Charlie's side- it was his dad day drinking again "I better go dad's drinking again." He chuckled "I'll see you guys tomorrow'?"

Demetri and Eli both nodded "see ya."
