Elena sat in silence, her eyes straining to make out the shadowed forms of the two masked men standing on either side of her. The air in the small room was stale, thick with tension, and her wrists ached from the ropes binding her. She shivered, not just from the cold, but from the terrifying reality of her situation. She had no idea where she was or who was holding her, only that Jack wasn’t there—and she wasn’t sure if he’d ever find her.

As her mind raced, the heavy door creaked open, and a woman stepped inside. She moved with a strange, almost theatrical elegance, her high heels clicking against the concrete floor with each step. Her face was hidden behind a sleek black mask, but her eyes—cold, piercing—were all too visible, and they held a sinister glint.

"Hello, Elena," the woman said with a mocking lilt in her voice, stopping just a foot away. "You’re safe for now, but believe me, no one will ever find you here. Especially not Jack."

The mention of Jack’s name made Elena’s heart pound. She knew he’d come for her if he could—if he knew where to look. But this woman, whoever she was, seemed confident that Jack would never find out.

“Why are you doing this?” Elena demanded, forcing her voice to stay steady despite the tremor she felt in her chest. “What could you possibly gain from kidnapping me?”

The woman laughed, a sound that echoed in the dark, empty space. “Oh, Elena, I’ll gain everything I’ve lost and more. Revenge, money, power—everything Jack thinks he can take from me, I’ll take back.” She leaned closer, gripping Elena’s chin tightly, making her flinch. “But don’t do anything foolish,” the woman warned, her voice suddenly dark. “One wrong move, and I won’t hesitate to make you regret it.”

Elena met her gaze, defiant despite the woman’s grip on her. "You think he’ll just let you get away with this?” she challenged, her voice strong.

The woman’s eyes narrowed, and she released Elena’s chin with a little push. “Oh, I don’t care about what Jack wants. I care about watching him fall apart.” She reached down, grabbing a small silver bracelet that Jack had given Elena, a simple gift that meant everything to her. Elena tensed as the woman slid it off her wrist.

“Why do you want my bracelet?” Elena demanded, a flash of anger in her voice.

The woman smirked, holding up the bracelet so it caught the dim light, making it glint. “Because, sweetheart, this will let Jack know you’re in my hand's. Consider it a message—a warning.”

Elena’s gaze hardened as she studied the woman’s face. Beneath the mask and the cool, icy gaze, there was something familiar, something that tugged at her memory. She couldn’t quite place it, but she was certain she’d seen or heard this woman before.

“Your voice…” Elena murmured, narrowing her eyes. “I think I know you.”

The woman’s mouth twisted into a mocking smile, and she gave a little laugh. “Well, aren’t you clever?” she purred, sounding almost amused. “I’d love to see you guess, but for now, let’s keep things interesting, shall we?”

The woman turned, and with a casual wave of her hand, gestured to one of the masked men. “Make sure she stays…comfortable,” she said with a sly smile, then walked toward the door. “And Elena?” she paused, glancing back over her shoulder. “Enjoy your stay.”

The door closed with a loud clang, and the woman’s footsteps faded away down the hall. Left alone again, Elena sat in the darkness, her mind racing. Whoever this woman was, she was dangerous. She could only hope that Jack would somehow figure out where she was before it was too late.
