Raven's P.O.V.
I kick the autumn leaves as the breeze lightly touches my face. I hear the crunch under my feet each time I step and jump giving me a sense of satisfaction. I spin, jump, sprint past the trees laughing in delight. I started to grow tired and collapsed on the leaf covered ground, facing the cloudy grey sky. "I can never go back. I feel so free." I whisper to myself. I remember flashbacks of fighting with my parents and running out the door. I belong here. In the woods where I'm surrounded by nature. Surrounded by freedom. I lift myself off the ground and start to slowly walk up to a tall tree. I grab the closest branch and start to climb. I continue to get higher and higher as I climb until I ran out of sturdy branches. From where I sat I could see so much. I watched the trees sway in the breeze.
My eyes scanned the woods for some form of life until they set on a boy. No, not a boy. A teenage boy around my age. I blink to make sure that what I see is real. He seemed harmless, if I went up to him he wouldn't bring me back to my parents, right? I climbed my way down the tree and started to head in the direction of the unknown person.
Once I found him he was sitting under a tree leaning against it. His eyes were closed and looked as if he was sleeping. I hid behind a tree making sure he wouldn't see me. Maybe if I watch him I can figure out if he can be trusted. I moved my foot to get comfortable, thinking I would be standing there for a while, until a twig broke. I looked down at my feet irritatingly thinking that this only happened in movies or cheesy fan fictions. The boy's eyes fluttered open and looked around for the source of the noise. I stood still. I watched him as he slowly stood up cautiously. He started to walk in my direction and I panicked. My heart started to beat fast as I released the breathe I unknowingly held. I looked at him and sprinted away hoping that he doesn't some how see my face.
