After the harrowing encounter with the mother monster, Sol, Peter, Penelope, Max, Tom, and Clara returned to Gregory's house, their nerves frayed and hearts pounding. The trauma of the unimaginable beast weighed heavily on them.
As they entered the house, Sol immediately reported what they had encountered. "We faced the mother monster," she said, her voice trembling. "It was more powerful than we could have imagined. It can’t be eliminated easily."
Max added, "It seemed like it had a target lock on Sol."
Gregory, standing nearby, interjected with a grave tone, "We didn’t find the monster. The mother monster found us. That’s terrifying."
William, clearly worried, suggested, "If this monster can’t be eliminated, maybe we need to run. There’s nothing we can do."
Sol, her voice rising with intensity, argued, "Running would be risky. We should stay and fight. We have a shot, and I have a shot!"
Susan intervened, "Lower your voice, Sol."
Realizing she had been shouting, Sol stormed off to her room, emotions churning.
Everyone retreated to their own rooms, exhausted. Sol lay on her bed, her mind racing. She found an old picture of herself with Tilda, unable to believe how her former friend had betrayed them all. As she held the picture, she drifted off to sleep, only to wake in a strange, dark place. She was standing in water, her reflection clear yet distorted. In the distance, she saw Tilda lifting Harrison, who writhed in pain.
Tilda’s voice echoed, "You couldn’t find Riley, Harrison. Now, you will pay the price." She used her powers, and Harrison screamed.
Sol yelled, "Stop! Stop what you're doing!" But her voice seemed to vanish into the void.
She jolted back to consciousness, screaming. An energy burst from her, shaking the house. William and Susan rushed into her room, followed by the others. Sol, still shaken, recounted what she had seen. "I saw Tilda torturing Harrison. It felt so real."
Riley, visibly shaken, muttered, "It can’t be..."
Susan, trying to soothe her, said, "It must have been a dream, Sol."
But Gregory interrupted, "No, it wasn’t a dream. Telepathic individuals like Sol can travel using their minds. They can see everything, even when they’re not physically there."
"What do you mean?" asked Max, puzzled.
"It’s called astral projection," Gregory explained. "Sol, you have a powerful gift. You’re able to project your consciousness to different places. What you saw was real."
The room fell silent as everyone processed this revelation. Sol’s abilities were more formidable than anyone had realized, and the weight of their situation became even clearer. The battle against Tilda and the monsters was far from over, and Sol's newfound power might be their key to survival.
