Dad! I screeched as I jumped on my parents bed on my birthday, waking my mother in the process
It was the 22nd of December today
Or like I said, it is my birthday
Ughhh I'm not waking up at 6 Clair!
But daaaaadd!!!! I want my ring today
So as I was saying, today is my 11th birthday , and finally after years of practice on how to follow uncle Stephan's way of feeding and control my thirst , I am finally getting my ring to walk in sunlight
My brother, Chris had gotten his ring last year and was now going to Hogwarts so I was sure I would get my letter to go this year too
He had come home for the Christmas holidays and was still sleeping
So I tiptoed into his room and saw him sleeping with his arms criss-crossed on his bare chest
I quickly and silently went near him and slowly started slipping his ring out of his finger
Really Clair!? Said the unamused voice of Stephan Salvatore
Well can you blame her? said aunty Elena

They both were standing on the door way of the room
Suddenly I saw Chris's eyes flutter open
He clenched his hand as he noticed what I was trying to do
He quickly pushed me on the wall while holding my shoulders
Don't do that again Clair unless you want to try and regrow a bone , he said in a angry but calm voice
I pushed him back to the ground and pinned him there
I think you should rethink that sentence, Chris , I said in the same tone
Though he was older , I was still stronger than him as I was more energetic
Ok ok let go of him Clair , said uncle
Elena came up behind me and picked me off him
Now! Let's give your ring to you! Shall we
Yay , I said engulfing Stephan in a hug
He bent over to reach my height and then took out a black box
I took it from him and opened it
Inside was a beautiful blue stone, lapsis lazuli
I looked confused, why was only the stone there?
Where is the ring? , I only see the stone !
He smiled at me and then looked behind me to look at Chris
I'm guessing none of you told her?
He looked at me again and said
Well , Clair we all have our own jewellery that protects us from the sunlight, but each of us gets a customised one when we touch it for the first time
So I took the stone in my hand and wrapped my fingers up to form a fist
When I opened my hand again , there was the prettiest lapsis lazuli ring with a gothic design with my initials on it
