Genre: Fluff, Cozy Romance

Halloween is in full swing, and Taylor's place is decorated in true spooky spirit cobwebs, dim orange lights, fake spiders, and a pumpkin patch candle flickering in the corner. You and Taylor decided to skip the big parties this year, opting instead for a cozy night in. It's just the two of you, a pile of Halloween snacks, and a lineup of scary movies that Taylor swears will be "just the right amount of creepy."

"You ready for this?" Taylor teases, holding up the DVD case for Hocus Pocus with a mischievous grin. "It's a Halloween classic."

"You know it," you reply, grabbing the popcorn bowl as you settle into the couch beside her. She's wearing a cozy oversized sweater, her hair pulled back with a headband decorated with little black bats. It's adorable, and you can't help but smile every time you look at her.

Taylor starts the movie, and soon the room fills with the nostalgic sounds of witches cackling and spells being cast. Every now and then, she makes funny comments or starts singing along with the characters, and you find yourself more entertained by her than the movie.

Halfway through, she leans her head on your shoulder, letting out a contented sigh. "This is perfect," she murmurs, reaching for a handful of candy from the bowl on her lap.

"Better than the parties?" you ask, raising an eyebrow.

"Way better," she says, glancing up at you with a soft smile. "I'd take a night like this with you over a crowded room any day."

Your heart does a little flip, and you can't help but reach over to playfully poke her side. "You're just saying that because you get to keep all the snacks to yourself."

She laughs, lightly shoving you back. "Guilty. But also, I like being here with you." Her voice softens as she says it, and there's something in her eyes that makes you feel warm all over.

As the movie continues, the spooky atmosphere fades into something warm and comfortable. When it's over, Taylor leans over to grab another film from her stack. "Okay, let's make this one scarier," she says, holding up The Conjuring with a playful glint in her eye.

"Are you sure you can handle it?" you ask, raising an eyebrow. You know from past movie nights that she's easily spooked, but she's always up for a challenge.

"Oh, please," she scoffs, settling back onto the couch. "I can handle it. Can you?"

The movie starts, and it isn't long before Taylor's gripping your arm, half-hiding her face in your shoulder as the suspense builds. At every jump scare, she gasps and grabs onto you tighter, and you can't help but laugh, even though your own heart is pounding.

When the movie finally ends, Taylor lets out a huge sigh of relief, burying her face in your shoulder. "Okay, that was terrifying," she admits, her voice muffled by your sweater. "Why did I think this was a good idea?"

You laugh, wrapping an arm around her. "Hey, you're the one who insisted on it. But you survived!"

She looks up at you, her face close to yours. "Barely," she says with a smirk. "Good thing I had you here to protect me."

Her words hang in the air for a moment, and you can feel your heart racing. Taking a breath, you say softly, "I'll always be here to protect you, Taylor."

Taylor's cheeks flush, and she looks at you with a warmth that goes beyond the Halloween glow in the room. Slowly, she closes the gap between you, her lips brushing yours in a soft, lingering kiss. It's sweet, gentle, and somehow feels even more special in the quiet of the night.

When she pulls back, she's smiling, her eyes shining. "Best Halloween ever," she whispers.

"Agreed," you say, feeling like you're floating.

The two of you snuggle back onto the couch, blankets wrapped around you as you pick a lighter movie to end the night. As you sit there, wrapped up together with the soft glow of Halloween decorations around you, you realize this is a night you'll never forget.
