After Sylvia had paid for the dress which was 345 dollars, insane for a piece of cloth, I turned and looked around. Anthony was no where in sight. Unsure, I had quickly ran through the shopping department with Sylvia and got 270 dollar white wedges and 135 dollar silver earrings that I had no intention of wearing.

The whole time I couldn't shake the feeling that Anthony was still there... watching me. Who the hell was he? No one walked around California with a scabbard calling themselves a "hero". Holy shit... Had he seen me changing into the dress? I suddenly felt violated and I couldn't help but look over my shoulder.

"You looking for someone?" asked Sylvia.

"What?" I snapped back to reality.

"You were looking over your shoulder like you were expecting to see a ghost."

"Umm... nothing just... uhh... I saw a hot guy walk by." I stuttered, hoping she bought my lie.

"Seriously? You're going to the dance with Kaden. Don't start staring at other guys." She chided.

See who's talking.

I was gonna fire back but bit my tongue. I had no intention of returning any of the items I bought today and I just might have to if I wasn't careful. "You're right. I actually don't think I need to buy anymore things for the dance. Thanks for everything today. See you tomorrow!" I was about to turn on my heels and walk away as fast as I could but she grabbed onto my arm again and gave me another one of her big creepy smiles that showed off her perfect white teeth.

"Why don't I drive you home? It's getting pretty dark."

I was about to laugh in her face. Since when did Sylvia freaking care if I lived or died. Just because she bought me an expensive dress doesn't mean I forgive her for all the times she looked at me like I was shit under her designer heels.

Once again I had no choice but to agree. Reluctantly, I nodded and we headed towards her car which was, of course, parked in a VIP spot.

Right as the car exited the mall's parking lot I swore I could feel a pair of eyes following the car.

When I got home I took in a deep breath and exhaled, my hand hovering over the handle of my front door. I had probably stood there for five minutes, thinking about what Aunt Cassie was going to say. Would she freak out again if I told her about Anthony? Or would she explain everything to me so everything could finally make sense? For now I was going to keep quiet because I was hoping with all my heart that soon Aunt Cassie would tell me that everything that she had said was a joke.

Taking a deep breath I twisted the key and entered the house.

"Aunt Cassie! I'm home!" I waited for a response.

"Aunt Cassie?" Still no response. Maybe she was on a double shift tonight.

I shrugged it off and headed upstairs to put away all the stuff I bought today. I took the dress out of the shopping bag and carefully laid it down on my bed. I realized why it was such an expensive dress, as I ran my hand over the hand embroidered flowers. Smiling at my choice, I put it on a hanger and hung it on my closet's knob. Next, I took my shoes out and set them beneath the dress. Finally, I took out the silver earrings that I had bought as a joke to use Sylvia's money, but realized that they were actually kinda cute. I stood up and went to the bathroom to try them on. Surprisingly the diamond shaped earring with small silver balls that framed the earring didn't look as bad as I thought it would. I was never one to wear dangly earrings. Mostly small studs that wouldn't get in my way while running. However, these ones weren't too big that would make me uncomfortable, and neither were they too small to not go noticed.
