Prologue's Recap:

Izuku Okkotsu, formerly Izuku Yagi, finds himself in a room filled with ancient talismans and cursed objects. As he gazes at the artifacts surrounding him, his mind wanders to the various "curses" that have plagued his life. The weight of being told he would amount to nothing, the pain of never experiencing true love, and the crushing reality of being Quirkless all swirl in his thoughts.

His mind drifts back to a pivotal moment 12 years ago. A young Izuku, full of hope and excitement, visits the hospital with his twin sister Izumi for their Quirk assessments. The stark contrast between their fates becomes apparent as Izumi's incredible telekinetic Quirk manifests, while Izuku receives the devastating news of his Quirklessness. In that moment, his dreams of becoming a hero like his idol, All Might, begin to crumble.

The years that follow are marked by increasing isolation and relentless bullying. His former friend Katsuki, once a source of companionship, becomes his tormentor. Classmates who once played with him now look down on him with disdain. Even at home, Izuku feels the sting of neglect as his parents shift their focus to nurturing Izumi's powerful Quirk.

Just when the loneliness threatens to consume him, a ray of light enters Izuku's life in the form of Rika Orimoto. Her kind heart and unwavering support become Izuku's lifeline. Their bond deepens, culminating in a touching moment on Izuku's 10th birthday when Rika presents him with a necklace bearing a ring, a symbol of her promise to always stand by his side.

However, fate cruelly intervenes. In a tragic twist, Rika sacrifices herself to save Izuku from an oncoming car. As she lies dying in his arms, a mysterious cursed being appears, making a cryptic promise that Izuku can't fully comprehend in his grief-stricken state. The loss of Rika, his only true friend, leaves a void in Izuku's heart that seems impossible to fill.

Six years pass, and Izuku, now a student at Aldera Junior High, is a shadow of his former self. Gone is the bright-eyed, hopeful child, replaced by a sullen and indifferent teenager. His classmates' excitement about their futures at UA High only serves to highlight Izuku's isolation. Katsuki Bakugo, in particular, seems to take pleasure in tormenting Izuku at every opportunity.

A turning point comes when the teacher mentions Izuku's ambition to attend UA. Bakugo, enraged by what he perceives as Izuku's audacity, confronts him aggressively. To everyone's shock, including Izuku himself, he manages to overpower Bakugo, displaying unexpected physical prowess. This incident marks a shift in how his classmates perceive him, their mockery tinged with a new wariness.

Bakugo, humiliated and furious, escalates his bullying. He destroys Izuku's meticulously compiled hero analysis journal, an act of cruelty that cuts deep. But it's Bakugo's callous suggestion that Izuku should take his own life to "gain a quirk in his next life" that truly shakes Izuku to his core. Despite the pain, a flicker of defiance ignites within him, refusing to let go of his dreams.

The final straw comes when Izuku overhears a conversation between his parents, All Might, and Lady Magnet. Their lack of faith in his ability to become a hero, spoken so casually, shatters something within him. In a moment of raw emotion, Izuku destroys his cherished All Might memorabilia, each torn poster and broken figurine a physical manifestation of his broken trust and shattered dreams.
