The candlelight flickered softly in the quiet room, casting shadows that danced along the walls. Mew leaned against the grand piano in their shared parlor, watching as Tul, immersed in an old tome, turned the pages with a focused expression. For hours, Tul had been poring over the book—a rare find they’d uncovered in an old shop a week ago.

Mew sighed softly, though he knew Tul could hear him. But Tul, ever the stoic, seemed intent on ignoring his fiancé’s attempts at attention. Mew decided to try something else. He took a few steps forward, making his way to Tul's side with deliberate slowness, letting his fingers brush lightly against Tul’s shoulder.

“Are you going to stay buried in that book all night?” Mew asked, his voice soft with a playful edge.

Tul’s eyes barely shifted from the page, though Mew could see the slightest smile tugging at his lips. “It’s fascinating, really. Did you know there’s a mention of an ancient relic, one that was once held by a vampire coven that vanished centuries ago?”

Mew raised an eyebrow. “And you think this relic is still around somewhere?”

Tul looked up, meeting Mew’s gaze at last. “Possibly. There are hints that it could be hidden in the city, lost in time.”

Mew tilted his head, a small smile playing at his lips. “And here I thought you only wanted me for my mysterious allure.”

Tul chuckled, finally closing the book. “Your allure is one mystery I’d rather never solve,” he murmured, reaching up to touch Mew’s face.

Satisfied, Mew leaned into Tul’s hand, letting his fingers lace with his fiancé’s. “Then perhaps we can leave the mysteries in the books for one night and… focus on more pressing matters?” His voice was a low murmur, the suggestion clear in his tone.

Tul smirked, his hand slipping down to Mew’s waist. “You’ve always been impatient.”

“Only when it comes to you,” Mew replied, drawing closer until there was barely any space left between them.

For a moment, the world around them faded, leaving only the quiet hum of their eternal bond. Time had stolen so much from them, but these moments—these quiet, lingering touches—were the ones they cherished most. Mew pressed a kiss to Tul’s lips, savoring the warmth, the familiar taste, the promise that they’d made long ago.

As the night deepened, they both knew that whatever mysteries awaited them, they would face them together. But tonight, under the soft glow of candlelight, Mew had finally captured Tul’s attention in full.
