Harriet's POV
The Room of Requirement had become our sanctuary, a hidden fortress where hope and resistance thrived. As I watched my friends-my allies-come together, the weight of everything we had faced began to lift, even if only a little. The room buzzed with energy as plans were made, defenses discussed, and old friendships rekindled. It felt almost surreal to be back, surrounded by the people I loved, even if I couldn't speak to them.
Hermione and Ron pulled me into their arms, both of them crying and laughing, the relief and joy evident on their faces. Hermione's fingers gently ran through my fur, and I felt her tremble with emotion. "We missed you so much, Harriet," she whispered. "We're going to fix this. I promise."
Ron's voice was gruff, but his eyes were soft. "It's not the same without you," he said. "But we'll get you back, mate. No matter what."
I pressed my head against them, savoring the warmth of their presence. This was what I had missed most: the unbreakable bond of friendship. It gave me the strength to keep going, to believe that we could win this fight.
Draco's POV
Standing among the members of Dumbledore's Army was a feeling I never thought I'd experience. Their trust was tenuous, but they were willing to listen, willing to work with me, and that was more than I could have hoped for. Harriet's presence had bridged a gap that years of rivalry and hatred had created, and now we had to make the most of it.
Neville took charge, his leadership skills honed over months of resistance. He organized patrols, made sure everyone had a role to play, and kept the morale high. It was inspiring to watch him command the room, to see how he had transformed into someone who embodied the heart of the rebellion.
Ginny pulled me aside, her eyes narrowing. "If you're lying to us, Malfoy, if you're playing some kind of game-"
"I'm not," I interrupted, meeting her gaze with as much sincerity as I could muster. "I'm here because I want to fight. I want to stop Voldemort."
She studied me for a long moment, and then, to my surprise, she nodded. "Good," she said. "Because we need all the help we can get."
We gathered in a circle, the core members of Dumbledore's Army along with Draco, Luna, and a few others. Hermione had taken out a piece of parchment, scribbling notes as we discussed what we knew and what needed to be done. Her mind worked like clockwork, piecing together our fragmented information.
"What about the Horcruxes?" Luna asked, her voice soft but unwavering. "We need to find them, don't we? To defeat him once and for all?"
Ron stiffened, and I could see the tension in his jaw. "That's something Harry, Hermione, and I were working on," he said carefully. "But it's complicated. We need to keep the focus on protecting Hogwarts for now."
Draco glanced at me, and I could see the question in his eyes. Horcruxes. The word sent a chill through me, a reminder of how deep and twisted Voldemort's magic ran. But there was no time to dwell on that now. We had to take things one step at a time.
"We need to be ready for anything," Neville said, his voice strong. "We don't know when Voldemort will make his move, but we have to assume it'll be soon. We have to fortify the castle, keep the students safe, and be prepared to fight."
Hermione looked up, her eyes blazing with determination. "We'll use everything we've got," she said. "Spells, enchantments, every trick Dumbledore's Army has learned. We won't let him take Hogwarts without a fight."
The room was silent for a moment, the gravity of what we were about to face settling over all of us. But then, one by one, our friends nodded, their resolve hardening. We were ready-or as ready as we could be.
Harriet's POV
The tension in the room was thick, but there was also a spark of hope, a determination that couldn't be extinguished. I stayed close to Draco, sensing that he still felt like an outsider, even among this group of unlikely allies. But I could see that he was trying, that he was committed to our cause.
Hermione knelt beside me, her fingers gentle as she scratched behind my ears. "We'll need to work on reversing your curse soon," she said softly. "I've been researching spells and potions, but it's going to take time. And we'll need a safe place to attempt it."
I nodded, meeting her gaze with as much gratitude as I could convey. Hermione had always been our brilliant strategist, and if anyone could find a way to break this curse, it was her.
Draco stepped forward, his voice hesitant but strong. "I'll help however I can," he said. "With whatever you need."
Neville gave him a long look and then nodded. "Good," he said. "We'll need you."
The alliance was fragile, built on necessity and the shared desire to stop Voldemort. But it was real, and that was enough for now.
As the night wore on, we worked tirelessly, weaving enchantments and making plans. The castle itself seemed to hum with anticipation, the magic within its walls ready to protect us, to fight for us.
I felt a sense of purpose, a sense of belonging. The final battle was coming, and I would stand beside my friends-my family-no matter what. Together, we would protect Hogwarts. Together, we would make our stand.
