Harriet's POV
The battle roared around us, the walls of Hogwarts trembling with the power of spells cast in desperation and hope. Voldemort was surrounded, but he was far from defeated. His curses were wild, tearing through our defenses, and every moment felt like it could be our last.
I stayed close to Draco, Hermione, and Ron, my small body darting in and out of the chaos, doing what little I could to protect my friends. My heart ached with the desire to be human again, to fight alongside them the way I was meant to. But as another wave of dark magic surged through the room, I knew that I couldn't let my weakness hold me back.
Voldemort raised his wand, aiming at a group of students who were trying to shield each other. The spell he unleashed was a twisting, malevolent force, one that promised pain and death. Desperation coursed through me, and I leapt forward, ready to do whatever it took to defend them.
But as the curse neared, something extraordinary happened. The walls of Hogwarts shimmered, the very stone glowing with ancient, golden light. The magic of the castle, powerful and ancient, surged to life. It was as if Hogwarts itself had chosen to intervene, to protect its students one last time.
The golden light enveloped me, warm and overwhelming, and I felt my entire body seize with magic. It was unlike anything I had ever felt-a tidal wave of power that seemed to reach into the very essence of who I was. The world spun, and for a moment, everything went dark.
When I opened my eyes, I was lying on the cold stone floor, my body aching. But something felt different. My limbs felt too long, too human. I raised a trembling hand in front of my face, and I gasped.
I was human again. The curse had been broken.
Hermione's face appeared in my line of vision, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Harriet!" she cried, throwing her arms around me. Ron was there too, his mouth open in shock, and I felt Draco's presence, hovering just behind them, his blue eyes wide with disbelief.
"You're back," he whispered, his voice cracking.
The golden light of Hogwarts continued to pulse around us, and I realized that the castle itself had broken my curse. The magic of this place-the magic of home-had restored me, just when we needed it most.
But there was no time to celebrate. Voldemort let out a roar of fury, and the light of the castle began to fade. The battle was far from over.
I stood, my legs shaky but strong. Hermione handed me my wand, and I felt the familiar weight settle in my hand. I had never felt more ready to fight. "We end this now," I said, my voice ringing with newfound strength.
Draco's POV
Seeing Harriet transform back into herself felt like a miracle. The golden light of Hogwarts had wrapped around her, breaking the curse and giving us a glimmer of hope when we needed it most. Her presence, strong and fierce, changed everything. The battle wasn't over, but our chances had just become a little brighter.
I watched as she stood, her wand raised, and for the first time in what felt like forever, I believed we could win. Harriet was back, and she was ready to fight.
We turned to face Voldemort, who was still surrounded but more dangerous than ever. His fury was palpable, and he raised his wand, his voice echoing through the room. "You think this changes anything?" he sneered. "You think you can defy me?"
Harriet stepped forward, her green eyes blazing. "Yes," she said, her voice clear and unyielding. "We can. And we will."
She cast a spell, a brilliant beam of light that collided with Voldemort's magic, and the two forces clashed in a spectacular display of power. The students of Hogwarts rallied around her, their wands raised, their courage shining through the darkness.
I joined them, my heart pounding with the knowledge that this was it-the final stand. We had one chance to defeat the darkness that had plagued us for so long, and we were ready to give it everything we had.
The castle seemed to hum with energy, and I knew that Hogwarts was fighting with us, its magic intertwined with ours. We weren't just defending a school; we were defending our home, our friends, our future.
Harriet's POV
The final moments of the battle were a blur of light and sound. I felt the magic of Hogwarts coursing through me, lending me strength as I faced Voldemort. He was powerful, but he was alone, and we were many. Our combined strength, our unity, was something he could never understand.
With a final, desperate spell, Voldemort tried to break our defenses. But the students of Hogwarts, the members of Dumbledore's Army, and the Order of the Phoenix stood strong. I raised my wand, channeling every ounce of magic I had, and cast the spell that would end it all.
The light that erupted from my wand was blinding, a surge of pure, unbreakable magic. It collided with Voldemort's curse, and for a moment, the world seemed to hold its breath.
Then, with a deafening crack, the dark magic shattered, and Voldemort's form crumbled, dissolving into nothingness. The room fell silent, and for a heartbeat, no one moved.
And then, like the breaking of a dam, a roar of triumph erupted from our friends and allies. The darkness had been defeated. We had won.
I turned to see my friends-Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Neville-and finally, Draco, who was staring at me with a mixture of awe and relief. Tears filled my eyes, but they were tears of joy, of hope. We had fought together, and we had prevailed.
The battle was over, and Hogwarts stood tall, a beacon of light and magic that could never be extinguished.
