Chapter 9: A Day Of Unexpected EncounterThe next day went by, and Jungkook was quiet for most of the day; Taehyung, of course, just gave him space to be himself and understand the situation. He did not want to pressure him even more. He was glad that Jungkook wouldn't waste himself by drinking or smoking because he knew that stuff wouldn't help him at all. Fortunately, Taehyung's injuries healed and he could walk properly.
“Taehyung!”
Taehyung heard a familiar voice had called him while he was walking in the hallway of the University. He turned around and saw Eunbin running toward him.
“I've heard what happened to you, are you okay?” she asked worriedly.
“Oh, I'm fine,” Taehyung responded with a smile.
“I'm glad to see that your face didn't get any damage; you're so handsome; it would be a waste if your face were ruined.” Eunbin playfully said. “but I heard it was technically Jungkook's fault for what happened, is that true?” she questioned him.
“Not really; it was my fault for going to that place and almost standing in the middle of the lane, and I believed I should've been blamed for what happened to me.” Taehyung uttered, rubbing the back of his neck.
“But still, who would have thought Jungkook would participate in illegal racing? Him being your partner literally will ruin your image. Don't you think you should think about your decision to be his boyfriend? I think you should go and look for someone else better for you.” Eunbin told him.
“I don't want to,” that response even surprised Eunbin. “I love Jungkook; no matter what happens, I'll make sure to stay by his side. He may not have a good image circulating around the University, but I believe that no one could compare to Jungkook. I knew Jungkook better than anyone else. He was an amazing guy, and I will love him with all my heart.” Taehyung's eyes glimmering when he said that.
It was so obvious that he was so in love with Jungkook.
“Well, if that's what you say, but maybe next time you should be careful. That kind of accident would've caused much worse if you're not careful.” Eunbin sighed.
“I know; thank you for your concern, though,” Taehyung gave her a small smile.
“We should get going for the ceremony; I've heard there would be something interesting that will happen.” Eunbin changed the topic and started to walk.
“That's right; I think they said there would be a transferee, but why would they need to hold a ceremony for that?” Taehyung was confused.
“Well, I don't think the entire ceremony was for him, though, but I've heard his father funded this University, and I think the son would be the one who will represent the father instead. But also, he transferred here and there would be just a program before his introduction.” Eunbin stated.
“I see,” Taehyung mumbled. “his father must be an important figure for this University,” he added.
“I know right,” Eunbin chuckled.
They arrived at the school field where the ceremony would be held. There was a stage being set up, plenty of chairs and there were students already in the field. Luckily, the weather is just fine, not too hot nor too cold. Taehyung usually participates in the preparation, but since he was injured, he was excused not to be part of the meantime.
“President, welcome back!” Juhan playfully welcomed him. “have a seat; I literally saved this for you,” he said and patted the seat beside him.
Taehyung just giggled and sat down beside him while Eunbin was on the other side of Juhan.
“Where's Hannah? Have you seen her?” Eunbin asked.
“Not sure where that whore could be," Juhan shrugged off his shoulder.
“I'm here motherfucker,” they all flinched when they heard her voice behind them.
“What's wrong with you bitch?!” Juhan teasingly said in a shocked tone.
“Lower your damn voice; the principal is just around,” she seemed sick or something; her voice sounded way too raspy for a girl or even a person who had just woken up.
“What happened to you?” Juhan asked as he watched her take a sit on the chair behind him.
“I had to stay overnight for the research that was due the next day, and I'm still in part one of it. Mr. Seong loves torturing us,” Hannah said through gritted teeth.
She was obviously tired because of her appearance.
“Here, I have a coffee for you, and please fix your hair, you look so ragged.” Eunbin gave her a coffee, and Hannah took it, drinking it right away and at least trying to fix her hair.
Hannah thanked Eunbin for her kindness.
“Everyone, please sit properly, and the ceremony is about to start,” the host suddenly announced, and they immediately went back to their seat. “as once the seats were full, we can start now, so everyone, make sure to fill all the seats available.” the host added.
While Taehyung was busy listening to his friends rants to each other, he was surprised when someone sat down on the empty chair beside him.
“Jungkook,” Taehyung glowed, seeing it was his boyfriend. “you're surprisingly here,” he chuckled.
“I don't want to but everyone's here,” Jungkook sighed and put his arm around Taehyung's chair.
“Well, you might at least enjoy the program, it could be fun, you know,” Taehyung giggled.
“Doesn't matter, I don't wanna attend classes as well,” Jungkook uttered as he had his eyes closed.
“Everyone, before we can start the program, I would like to introduce you to the son of the person behind the University's success and the reason why this University still exists. Please give him a round of applause, Park Jimin!” the host finally introduced Jimin.
The moment Jungkook heard that name, he opened his eyes and looked at Jimin who was walking on the stage.
“What's the matter, Jungkookie?” Taehyung asked.
Jungkook's face became stoic, his glare was terrifying, and Taehyung could hear him grit his teeth while looking at Jimin.
