Dakota

The pulsing music and the dim lighting only made my nerves flare as I approached Ms. Beaumont. The room seemed to blur around her, leaving her as the sole focus of my attention. She was lounging comfortably in a private booth, her piercing gaze fixed on me as I stepped forward, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks.

My heart was pounding so loudly I was sure she could hear it. Swallowing hard, I managed a nervous smile as I greeted her, trying not to fumble my words. "Um... Hi, Ms. Beaumont. I didn't expect to see you... here."

She raised an eyebrow, her smirk deepening. "I could say the same about you, Dakota." she replied smoothly, watching me with that knowing gaze that made my knees feel weak.

"I, uh... Avery, my niece, she... sort of dragged me here." I stammered, feeling my face grow even hotter.

"Mm." she hummed in response, looking me over with a mixture of amusement and something deeper, something that made my skin tingle. Then, with a smirk, she patted the seat beside her, inviting me to join her.

Taking a deep breath, I slid into the booth next to her, my heart racing. I took a quick sip of my cocktail, hoping the alcohol would calm my nerves. But the fuzzy warmth only made me more aware of how close she was, of her presence enveloping me. I could feel her eyes on me, studying every little movement, and it took every ounce of self-control not to squirm under her gaze.

"You can call me Genevieve outside of work, Dakota." she said, her voice low and smooth, and something in the way she said my name sent a shiver down my spine.

I grinned, feeling a little bolder from the drink. "Okay... Genevieve." I replied, letting the name roll off my tongue.

But before I could get too comfortable, I felt her hand land gently on my thigh. The touch was electric, and I froze, my heart racing as I looked up at her, my eyes wide with surprise. Her smirk was still there, but her gaze had softened, darkened in a way that made me feel like she was seeing right through me.

"Do I make you nervous, cariño?" she asked, her voice dripping with a sultry edge that sent a fresh wave of warmth over my skin.

I swallowed, unable to find my voice. All I could do was nod, feeling completely caught under her spell, as if I were helpless to look away from those piercing eyes. She seemed amused by my reaction, her smirk deepening as she held my gaze.

"Use your words, Dakota." she murmured, her thumb tracing a slow, deliberate circle on my thigh. Her voice was soft but firm, the kind of command that brooked no disobedience.

"Yes." I managed to say, my voice barely more than a whisper. My heart was pounding so hard I could feel it in my throat, and I could barely breathe as her hand traveled up to rest gently against my neck.

Genevieve's fingers wrapped around my throat, not squeezing, just holding, her thumb brushing lightly over my skin in a way that made me shiver. "You're too innocent for this club." she whispered, her eyes searching mine with that same intensity that had been following me all night.

I swallowed under her touch, feeling the weight of her hand like a brand. I was too stunned to move, too entranced by the sensation of her hand on my throat, her thumb tracing gentle, possessive circles on my skin. I could only watch her, captivated and overwhelmed, as a small smirk curved on her lips.

She leaned in closer, her gaze never leaving mine. "I have a proposition for you." she murmured, her voice low, almost like a purr. "But you'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear it."

My heart stuttered at her words, and I nodded, forgetting for a moment that she wanted a verbal response. When I remembered, I managed to squeak out a soft, "Yes."

Genevieve's smirk deepened, her hand shifting to gently cup my cheek, her fingers warm and firm against my skin. "You're adorable." she said, her voice filled with a teasing warmth that made my heart race even faster. She leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to my cheek, her lips brushing against my skin in a way that left me breathless.

As she pulled back, she gave me one last lingering look. "Now, go back to your niece, Dakota." she murmured, her fingers trailing off my cheek, leaving a burning imprint where they'd touched.

I nodded, still caught in her gaze, before quickly standing up and taking a shaky step back. My whole face was flushed, and I could barely string two thoughts together as I stumbled away, my heart still pounding from the intensity of her touch.

As I made my way back to Avery, I could still feel the ghost of her fingers on my throat, her lips on my cheek, and the lingering promise of her proposition tomorrow.
