Mia loved spending time outside with her mom on warm, clear nights. They would lay a blanket on the grass and look up at the sky, filled with thousands of twinkling stars. Mia always thought the stars were like tiny diamonds, far away but still shining brightly for her to see.
One night, as she stared up at the sky, Mia whispered, "Mom, do you think anyone knows all the stars' names?"
Her mom smiled, pulling Mia close. "Did you know that God knows the name of every single star in the sky?"
Mia's eyes grew wide. "Every single one? But there are so many! How could anyone remember all of them?"Her mom laughed softly. "I know it's hard to believe, but it's true. God made each one, and He knows them all by name. And do you want to know something even more amazing?"
Mia turned her head and looked at her mom, curious. "What?"
"God knows your name too. Out of all the stars, all the people in the world, He knows you. He thinks you're even more special than all the stars in the sky."Mia's heart filled with warmth. She gazed back up at the stars, feeling small but also so important. "God knows my name?" she whispered to herself, her voice full of wonder.
Her mom squeezed her hand. "Yes, sweetheart. God knows everything about you. He knows when you're happy or sad. He knows when you laugh or cry. He's always thinking about you, and He loves you more than you can imagine."
Mia smiled, a cozy feeling wrapping around her like a soft blanket. As the stars twinkled above, Mia thought about how special she was to God. Even though there were so many people in the world, He cared about her, just like He knew each star by name.
And that night, as Mia drifted off to sleep under the starlit sky, she whispered a quiet prayer. "Thank You, God, for knowing my name. I love You, too."
In that moment, Mia knew something deep in her heart—she was never alone, because God was always with her, watching over her like the stars that never stopped shining.

Story Recap:
Today, we heard about Mia looking up at the stars and wondering how anyone could know all their names. Her mom reminded her that God knows not just the stars' names, but He knows her name too. Just like Mia felt special knowing God cares for her, you can feel special because God knows you by name as well!
- How do you think Mia felt when she realized God knew her name?
- Did you know God knows your name too? How does that make you feel?
Just like Mia learned that God knows her name, the Bible tells us that God knows every single star's name, and He knows your name too. Think about how big the sky is and how many stars there are! If God can remember each star's name, how much more does He remember your name and love you? You're more special to God than even the brightest star in the sky!
Reflection Questions:
• What do you think it means that God knows your name?
• If God knows you so well, how can you talk to Him about your day or how you're feeling?
Closing Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for knowing my name and loving me more than I can imagine. Help me remember that You are always with me, just like You know all the stars. Amen.
