Chapter 04 - Echoes of Unspoken

Lucas reached his house, sees his mom talking with neighbors.

Lucas: Fine. Thanks for coming with me, Lilly.

As Ajith expressed his gratitude, glancing towards where Lilly stood, she mysteriously faded away. The conversation they shared became a mere illusion, a beautiful mirage vanishing into the night. Lilly had left him near the ice cream shop itself.

[The Previous Scene where: The movie concludes, and it's time for them to part ways. They decide to visit an ice cream shop, indulging in sweet treats as they share laughter and enjoy the moment. Eventually, the inevitable goodbyes are exchanged, and Lilly heads her way while Lucas starts his journey. - Lilly had left him near the ice cream shop itself.]

And everything happened after that was just his imagination, leaving him with bittersweet emotions. Whenever this occurs, a blend of happiness and sadness envelops him. Happiness arises from the comforting illusion that she is with him, even if it is only in his imagination. Simultaneously, sadness creeps in, as the illusion is fleeting, and she gradually fades away.

The ache of sadness gripped him, the letdown pushing him to crave more of her. Returning home, in a desperate attempt to alleviate the pain of her fading illusion, he started texting her.

Lucas: Did you reach home?

Lilly: Yes. You?

Lucas: Just arrived.

Lilly: Okay.

Lucas: How was the day? Did you enjoy the movie?

Lilly: Yes, a lot. Thanks for that.

Lucas: No, I should thank you. Thanks for coming.

Lilly: No problem.

Lucas: When should we plan the next meet?

Lilly: We'll see. When we are free, we'll decide.

Lucas: Fine, as you say.

Ended as a short and crisp conversation. In their short talks about the day, the difference is clear between the real and imagined discussions with Lilly. Every time they chat, Lucas secretly wishes for more time, hoping their conversations could last a bit longer.

As days passed, their conversations deepened, sharing various aspects of their lives. A subtle bond of friendship started forming in Lilly's mind, and they began meeting whenever possible, not on a regular basis but quite often. Whether real or imaginary, every moment spent with her brought immense joy and happiness.

In every step he took, in every thought he had, and in every move he made, he found himself deeply immersed in her presence. As they continued to chat with each other, imagination knew no bounds. With each passing chat and frequent meetings, she became an integral part of his thoughts, and his love for her grew exponentially, unconditionally.

Lucas, having passed from the second year to the third year, faced new and challenging syllabus. The class discussions were becoming more complex, and some chapters seemed difficult to grasp.

One fine day, during the Network Administration class, Lilly suddenly entered his classroom. (His Imagination)

Lilly: Excuse me, sir! May I come in?

Lecturer: Yes, please come in. May I know who you are?

Lilly: I'm a new student, seeking admission.
