The tree stood like twisted shadows, their branches creaking, rocks crumbling as he walked. The eerie echo of ravens screeching left and right, the moonlight peaking through each tree, as he roamed through the woods, searching for his lover. As he was walking he realised the fog was starting to reveal he was getting closer and closer towards the castle, an old and run out castle, the windows were cracked and some of the walls were cracked also.
As Kolton started getting closer to Lazarus' castle he felt a breath on his neck that made his neck hairs stand up, Kolton stopped walking and then looked over his shoulder but didn't see anything behind him but did see a rabbit running across the trees. He continued walking towards the castle and the fog started to reveal it more but once more, the breath on his neck happened again.
Kolton turned around just to see Lazarus, the prince of vampires, "Hello Mon Cheri.." Lazarus calmly spoke, wrapping his arms around Kolton's waist "You scare me! You-you decided to just walk up like that?!" Kolton exclaimed, making Lazarus giggle. Lazarus' cold hand took Kolton's warm hand and started walking with him, towards his castle. As they made their way Kolton kept looking behind him, feeling he was being followed by someone, Lazarus saw this and started to speak up which startled Kolton a bit, saying, "You think there's someone following too?" Lazarus looked back as well and saw a shadow. They both stopped in front of the castle, Lazarus opened the door to the castle and then let Kolton go in first, before he went in last he looked back at the shadow that was following them but it was gone.
As Lazarus went in and closed the door a vase fell and smashed, startling the both boys, "that was probably the wind" Lazarus explained. Kolton's breath started to become raggedy as he saw Lazarus' teeth, he had spiky, shiny fangs, Lazarus tilted his head to the side, confused so he asked "You alright, dear?" Kolton Just pointed "I- You- Your teeth.." Kolton managed to sutter out.
Kolton didn't know he was dating a vampire, he just thought he was dating a fairly pale person, he was the prince, he wasn't really allowed to date guys but he secretly did, but a vampire? He never expected that to happen. He thought he was dating another prince not a vampire prince!, "A-are you the-the vampire prince?" Kolton asked as he watched Lazarus slowly but surely nod. Kolton just walked back to the door and tried to open it but couldn't seem to open it "wh-" before he could say anything he got interrupted "there's nothing bad about that, right?" Kolton just hesitated and said "No-no..not at all" he just let out a nervous giggle, fidgeting with his fingers.
His eyes were darting around the dimmed, ruined, worn down castle. To his left, in the corner and illuminated by a shard of light, was a bird cage, but it wasn't some parrot, or other birds you can own, it was a crow. "Heh, seems like you met Arrow, she's nice" Lazarus explained with a very suspicious smirk. Lazarus started to slowly walk towards Kolton, making him back up to a wall "Why so scared?" Lazarus asked, as he leaned over to properly face the other man who was just a foot shorter than him who was shaking, seeming as if he was scared for dear life. Kolton looked at the grandfather clock and realised it was time for dinner "I-I have to go h-home for dinner" he managed to spit out, he felt a hand touch his cheek "Good excuse, I'll let you go this time.." the tall vampire warned, and let Kolton go.
Kolton left the torn down, raggedy castle and finally went back home, he saw his parents, the king and queen, standing in front of the castle he and his family lives in, "where were you?!" his mother exclaimed "I was out having a stroll in the woods" Kolton explained, "well we were worried sick, Kolt" his father announced, Kolton went in to eat dinner with his family.
After dinner he went to bed, as he drifted off into sleep he felt something cold caress his cheek but he thought it was the wind, he was glad he was back home.
Or so he thought.
