"Maxon?" I poked my head into my husband's "private" office, where he had gone to work. "Yes, my dear?" he asked, not looking up from the document he was looking over. "Maxon? can we talk? In our room? Please?" "Okay, I need a break from this stupid editing anyway," he said, throwing his document on his desk.

We walked down the corridor to the room we had moved in, which had been his parents before the attack. I could tell it still hurt him to see the picture of his parents that was hung above the humongous bed, as we had yet to take it down.

"So, what did you want to talk about?" he asked, snapping me out of my daze. "Um, I..." I took a deep breath. "I'm pregnant."

"What? Really? You mean it?" "Yeah," I said with a smile, holding out my positive test. 'Yes!" he shouted, picking me up and spinning me around joyfully. "We're gonna be parents!" he yelled happily.

"Congratulations, your Majesties," Mary said politely. "Thank you, Mary," Maxon said. "Please send word to America's family to come to dinner tonight?" "As you wish, your majesty." Mary bowed and then went to send word to my family.

My mom had had a lot more business than usual and would be elated to find out I was pregnant. Kota had disappeared and cut contact with all of us. Kenna and James were still happily married and now had a second child, Astra's brother, Caleb. May would talk for hours about how excited she was, and little Gerad would be elated to have another baby to play with.

Maxon had to go back to work, so he kissed me goodbye and went back to his study, where he stayed, reviewing documents with advisors and guards.

Mary came back in after I had spent an hour reading to help me get dressed. "Your majesty, you need to get dressed," she said as she walked in, ready to assist me.

She pulled out a grand purple ball gown, light purple. It fell in layers and had off-the-shoulder sleeves.

"Mary, it's gorgeous!" "Thank you, miss. I made it myself." She smiled. "Alright, we'll get you changed."

The dress was paired with white heels, pearl jewelry, and lavender and white makeup.

"Mary, all this is unnecessary for just one dinner." "Please, miss, it's just that I want this to be special for you. Besides, you look amazing!" I sighed and then nodded my head. She left quietly, respectful as always. "Good luck, miss." She said, before closing the door.
