Elias couldn't believe his eyes. This was a hallucination, right? Because in front of him was none other than the leader of a rival pack, and the most terrifying one of all time.

And she was beautiful. Her heart shaped face was framed by jet black waves, and her eyes were glowing red- the trademark of an Alpha looking at their mate for the first time. He couldn't find any words to describe her- none would be enough. Goddess, he now understood why his wolf was screaming loud enough to cause a headache.

But this was completely ridiculous! Why would they be soulmates?

He couldn't even begin to count the political problems this would create. His pack elders were going to kill him for this. Or worse, use him as a hostage to threaten Callista-

But that would be if she accepts the bond, and frankly, she had no reason to. He was a rogue descendant , he wasn't that attractive - or useful. She couldn't leverage him against red crescent since everyone hated him over there anyways and-

And she seemed a lot less effected by the bond's pull than he was. For the record, her skin wasn't flushed like him, she didn't look feverish, and was still capable of standing up straight, unlike him.

They stood there for a while, face to face, just staring at each other in surprise.

Elias gulped, and grabbed the corner of a table near him. He leaned on it a little. There was no way that she'd accept the bond but...his loose hoodie felt too tight, and the way her gaze travelled down his body left a trail of fire in it's wake and made his knees weaker than they already were. He could feel the soulmate bond like something was tugging at his heart.

She stiffly walked over to him, not breaking eye contact, her stride controlled and confident. He couldn't make sense of the expression on her face. Was it disappointment? Anger? Numbness? Or was it Lust? Curiosity? Relief?

It was going to be painful when he would be inevitably rejected, but...

She raised her hand and put it on his shoulder. Electricity travelled from her touch to his chest, his heart pumping molten lava into his veins. The fuzzy feeling returned in his lower gut and...down there, causing him to rub his thighs together. Goddess, he was a mess. He couldn't look into her eyes anymore as a small, shaky gasp left his mouth.

He missed the way the corners of her lips turned up at the sound.

Her fingers moved from his shoulder and curled around his bicep. Elias's entire body was tingly now and he was going to fucking faint. She gave a gentle tug, (he absolutely did not squeak) and silently pulled him closer.

They needed to get away from the corridor, needed some privacy -now- or he was going to die.

Elias racked his brain for the map he memorized. He licked his dry lips and cleared his throat, praying that his voice came out normal, "Th-the storage... room... se-seventh room from here is... probably empty right now-"
