I was walking in my winter boots and my winter dress with my apron on as I hold my basket on my arm. As I gather vegetables and fruits to put in my basket; I notice the town is a bit busy today. Which sometimes is normal though the most busy is the galleries of gourmet. Though I haven't been there before, but you can only go if you are truly blessed with money. So I usually go there sometimes to just look at the store displays and the chocolate. I mean since my mom wants to use our money we make on stuff she wants and basically things we need, so we don't really get anything fancy most of the time.
So I was walking and bump into someone then I accidentally drop my basket full of veggies and fruits. "Oh I'm so sorry." The young man says to me. I look up at him and he was a bit taller than me. Though he had curly brown hair and green eyes as he's wearing a brown top hat, crème color trousers with light brown stripes, brown laced boots, a tattered overcoat that's purple, a button up vest with a long sleeve button up shirt, and a blue scarf. I smile and say,"it's alright." The man picks up the fruits and veggies and puts them in basket. I help him with putting the fruits and veggies back in my basket. Then I pick up my basket and say to him,"so I'm guessing you're new in town ?" The man nods and says,"yes I am, and I got here by a boat. Which I mostly just have been exploring." I look at him and say,"well you'll like it here." The man smiles at me and says,"I think I will, too." I smile back at him and we lock eyes. As I smile at him I see his cheeks turn red. I try not to laugh and look away. The man clears his throat and says,"so uh I need to look around the town, but it was nice talking to you." I smile and say,"it was nice talking to you as well." The man smiles at me then walks away with his battered brown suit case and his cane. The thing was the man seemed very kind to me. Though he seemed about near my age which would mean that he's in his twenties.
So a bit later I return to the Scrubbit's and Bleacher Laundry and Guest House, as I carry the basket with me. I knock on the door the little hatch on the door opens, and my mom sees me. "Ah, Karley your back. Come on in then dear." Mrs Scrubbitt says to me. My mom opens the door and I walk in. "So how was the town today ?" Mrs Scrubbit asks me. I walk behind the counter and put the basket on a table near me. "Not bad, honestly it's just though everyone goes to the galleries of gourmet." I say. My mom nods and says,"well that's not surprising though because a lot of the town goes there." I nod and grab my book from the counter. Then I start to read my book and relax for a bit.
Hours later, I was eating soup we made as I stand by the counter. Then I heard a knock at the door, and my mom walks up to the door. "Bleacher you better have my gin!" Mrs Scrubbit's yells. I shake my head and my mom opens the hatch on the door. "I have something better than gin, Mrs Scrubbit. We have a guest." Bleacher says. Bleacher moves aside and Mrs Scrubbit sees Willy. "Oh, why didn't you say ?" Mrs Scrubbit asks. My mom opens the door and says,"come on in sir! Welcome to Scrubbit's And Bleacher's Laundry And Guest House. Make yourself at home. Warm your cockles by the fire." I see the same guy I saw today in town walk in and I smile. "Gin ?" Mrs Scrubbit asks Willy. Willy says,"oh." Mrs Scrubbit's walks over behind the counter and yells,"Noodle!" Noodle she walks with her book and she says,"yes Mrs Scrubbitt." My mom looks at Noodle and says,"put that book down and pour Mr Wonka a glass of gin. Poor man's frozen half to death." Noodle closes her book and walks to the kitchen to pour a glass of gin. "Thank you, Mrs Scrubbit. You and your husband have been so kind to me." Willy says to my mom. I laugh and my mom says,"husband ? Him ?" My mom laughs and so does Bleacher. "I'm holding out for someone and wanting someone for my daughter here too." Mrs Scrubbit says to Willy. Noodle puts the wooden tray with two glasses of gin on the counter. "Your daughter ?" Willy asks Mrs Scrubbit. My mom nods and says,"yes this is Karley my daughter. She's around your age though I believe Mr Wonka." I smile at Willy and he smiles back at it. Noodle walks over to Willy with the glass of gin on the wooden tray. Willy takes the glass of gin and my mom says holding her glass of gin,"chin chin." My mom and Willy drink the gin from their glasses. Willy coughs and chokes a bit since the gin is so strong. "That is extremely strong stuff." Willy says. I nod and say,"that's why I don't drink it." Willy looks at me and says,"I don't blame you." My mom says to Willy,"so what can I do for your room, is it ?" I nod and say,"we can help Mr Wonka." I walk from behind the counter and up to him. "Well yes, but uh." Willy says. Willy looks at Bleacher and Bleacher says,"Mr Wonka carries temporary embarrassed." I look at him and then look at my mom. "Oh no, you don't say." My mom says to Willy. My mom looks at Willy and nods. "It's true, Mrs Scrubbit. Though that's about to change." Willy says to my mom. My mom nods and says,"oh yeah ?" Willy looks at her and says,"you see I'm something of an inventor and chocolate maker. And first thing tomorrow at the galleries gourmet I plan to unveil my most astonishing creation." My mom nods and Willy takes off his hat. "Prepared to be amazed as I present to you." Willy says. Willy pulls out a teapot from his hat. "A teapot ?" My mom asks. I look at Willy confused. My mom shakes her head. Willy pulls out carrots next out of his hat. "That's for my stew." Willy says holding the carrots. Me and Noodle laugh. "Don't worry Mr Wonka, I can see you're a great man of ingenuity. I got something for ya, the entrepreneurial package. Now it's one sovereign a night, but you don't have to pay until tomorrow. Does that give you enough time to make a few pennies ?" My mom asks. Willy puts his hat back on and says to my mom,"more than enough, Mrs Scrubbitt. Thank you." My mom walks over to the papers and contracts. "It's the least I can do for a stranger in need." My mom says to Willy. Then my mom grabs a contract and lays it on the counter. "Now, sign here and we're all done." My mom says to Willy. My mom hands Willy a pen and I knew the contract that he's about to sign is a trick. Which I can't say anything since this is what my mom and Bleacher do, for extra money. "Read the small print." Noodle whispers behind the counter in the other room with a little door open to Willy. Willy looks up and Willy says to Noodle,"what ?" My mom closes the door to Noodle and Willy seemed confused. I walk back behind the counter and see Willy unfolding the papers stacked together which was the small print. "Wow." Willy says holding the paper. I knew Noodle shouldn't have said something but, she was trying to help him. Which I understood completely and I would have too though I know I can't. My mom explains to Willy that Noodle is an orphan she found one day that was dropped off at the laundry place here and she had orphan syndrome. Though I know that's not a real thing and Noodle was so smart. Plus I taught Noodle from a young age to read, write and everything since my mom had to manage the business a lot. Then I see Willy look over the papers and he says,"well that all seems to be in order." My mom says surprised,"really ?" I was surprised and say,"wait really ?" Since I knew if someone read that then they would know the contract is a trick, but I'm guessing Mr Wonka can't read then. "Well then, welcome to Scrubbitt's." My mom says.
I see my mom walk to the rooms upstairs with Willy. The thing was little did, Mr Wonka know that he will have to be working soon for my mom and Bleacher.
