The day had finally come.

"The view is so pretty." Katherine sighed in a dreamy manner.

Her view contained the buildings of the city, every light was on practically making it look like stars through the dark clouds. The building that they stayed in allowed them to see every building both far and near. The cars looked miniature and the people looked like ants. They moreso saw the architecture . People would be hard to see unless you saw someone dancing in front of their window with no care in the world. Planes flew by at times and the sounds of ambulances, trucks, motorcycles, cars beeping you would hear. Not too loud tho. The building was high up so that gave them a bit of a leeway.

Did Dillon care about the view tho?

Not necessarily.

He cared about his view;

Katherine.

He had only glanced at the city a few times but the entire time his eyes was locked on her.

"It is." Dillon smiled to himself.

Katherine turned her head only to look at him in confusion.

"Why are you smiling?"

He shook his head, "I'm just enjoying the view in front of me too much."

To Katherine this was a flirt. To Dillon it was the truth.

Despite the air being cool outside, a wave of heat rushed over Katherine's face. She tried her best not to react but unfortunately, the pink hue on her nose and slight one on her cheeks gave away how she really felt in the moment.

"Aww. Are you blushing?~" Dillon teased as he leaned his face closer to hers to tease her even more.

"N-no, no I'm not!" She quickly looked away, embarrassed.

Dillon however, was not having it. He hooked his hand under her chin and turned her face to look towards him, purposely gazing into her eyes with his mischievous ones.

"It's okay sweetheart. I think it's cute when you blush. I don't know why you still hide it from me." He kissed her nose then her cheeks softly.

That made matters worst.

Katherine looked everywhere but at him for an escape.

"I don't blush."

"Sure you don't." Dillon rolled his eyes only to pull her in by her waist, their bodies now pressed against each other. Is it possible to blush all over? Because that's the exact feeling the girl felt in the moment.

"Can you not? Today is the day before you go back to Kansas and you're still teasing me like this." She hit his chest lightly but rested her arms around his shoulder shortly after.

Dillon shook his head with a mischievous grin.

"No can't do. You're too cute and I'm always going to tease you." He kissed her cheeks multiple times making 'muah' sounds even between her whines.

When he stopped Katherine just shook her head.

A frown came on her face.

"Oh what's wrong sweetheart?" He asked, concerned.

"I don't want you to leave." She sort of mumbled but it could be heard.

Dillon felt his heart ache a little.

This was the worst part of being long distance; the going back part.

"Baby" , he held her cheek and stroked it lovingly with his thumb, "I don't want to leave either but it has to be like this for now. I promise one day we'll be able to stay together and I'll never have to leave again."

Katherine looked away, her eyes tearing up.

"Oh my gosh—come here sweetheart." He pulled her in for a tight hug as she pressed her cheek against his shoulder.

"I know but", she sighed in between, "it's always so hard. The time I spend with you makes it harder for when you have to leave."

Dillon had to stop himself from tearing up himself.

He looked towards the city while gently caressing her back.

"It won't be long until we see each other again. I promise." He assured.

Katherine squeezed him a bit tighter, staying silent.

"Katherine, look at me." He held her face in the palm of his hands, wiping the tears that ran down her cheeks away. "It's gonna be okay baby. I know you don't like that we have to go back and forth but just a little longer okay? We can do this." He comforted in a hushed tone.

That made the girl cry even more.

"Okay." She sobbed.

Dillon scrunched his face trying not to cry. They continued to hold each other for a few minutes before going inside and trying their best to enjoy every second they had left before they would have to depart again.
