chapter 1 - pretty girl on the subway

[Adoras POV]

I stretched as I got out of bed, it was Sunday so it was 11am already. On weekdays I usually wake up at 8am. Anyways I got dressed into a white T-shirt, ripped jeans, and my red varsity jacket. Slipping on my shoes I quietly made my way out the door. There was this coffee shop a few blocks down, its my favorite. It's not too far only one subway ride away.

I got on the subway as per usual, I'm not one to fall for random people I see in public but when I sat down I saw this girl. She was really pretty, like really pretty- In a friendly way of course, well maybe not- Anyways, she was wearing a black jacket, a red T-shirt that had an opening at her boobs- eyes on her face Adora. Anyway she had black boots, and leggings. Her nails were black, and sorta long and sharp. she swayed as she looked around, as if she was looking for something. Her eyes landed on me, she smiled for a moment before the subway stopped and she got off. What was that about, was I staring? Did I look werid? Adora your overthinking it, she was just being kind. Ugh.

I arrived at the coffee shop 10 minutes later, glimmer was working today so I'm glad I didn't have to deal with what's her name, uhhh entrapta? She's really nice I just don't feel like talking a lot today and entrapa likes to talk, a lot.. I walked up to glimmer saying hi before I ordered my coffee "hey glimmer, can I get a house blend with 2 cream no sugar?" "Sure Adora, how are you doing?" Glimmer likes to make some small talk while she's making drinks and talking orders, not much tho. "I'm okay I guess" my parents are homophobic so, that's stressful especially when I'm a lesbian. I sat down at a booth, glimmer brought me my coffee then left to take some other customers orders. It was quiet in the cafe except for the odd people talking and the soft music in the background. I hummed quietly along to the song playing, sailor song I think?

After I drank my coffee I said goodbye to glimmer and left. I wanted to do some research on some drawing stuff cause we have a group project in art starting soon. I got home at 12pm, luckily mother was still out she was probably drunk at some guys house anyways. Shes an alcoholic so, it's normal. Father however he's not an alcoholic but he just doesn't care, about me or mother. I grabbed my laptop and sat on my bed, I threw my jacket to the floor and put a hoodie on, wincing slightly in pain at the discomfort of my left wrist... I sighed and put my laptop away. I pulled the blanket over me, closing my eyes. I couldn't get that girl out my head, her eyes were different colours, one amber one blue. Her eyes were so pretty. brightmoon is a small town, I'm surprised I've never seen her before. I'm trying to sleep but it's not working, I can't stop thinking of how beautiful she was- UGH why are women so hot. Eventually I put a playlist on and fell asleep.
