chapter 3

As we pull up to my mom's house Kita starts barking looking at the front door just then my mom walks out. Me and er get out of the car and get Kita out of the back. "Hey mom." i say pulling her into a hug until suddenly Jeremy speaks. "Hey, what i thought i always got the first hug." he pouts. "Oh yeah, my bad." i said to him, "Yeah i always get a hug first from misses' mom." he retorted.

My mom's actual name is Stephanie, but everyone calls her Miss Stephanie, mom, or as my friends call her misses mom. "Come here Jer." my mom says. Jeremy starts walking over to her and as soon as he is in arm's reach she pulls him into a tight hug. "You're my favorite son." she tells him jokingly. "Hey, I'm right here." i say befuddled. "Oh, you know I'm just joking, you will always be my favorite." she says letting go of jer and pulls me into a tight hug. "I better be." i say sarcastically.

I let go of her and give her Kita. I bend down and give Kita a pet and her favorite stuffed duck and tell her I love her. "We will be back in a week." jer says to my mom. "Bye mom love you." i say. "Bye kids, I'll see you in a week." she says. Me and jer get back in the car and start down the driveway

After an hour we both get hungry, so we stop at a gas station and get some chips, candy and a drink. "Ok what kind of chips?" I ask. "Salt and vinegar," he says. "Ok sure, grab some." I agree. "Now what kind of candy do you want?" jer asks me. "Gummy sharks." I told him. "Oooh yes I'll go get them." he agrees happily. "I'll go grab our drinks." i say. I walk over to the drinks and grab two original monsters, then walk up to the register where Jeremy is waiting for me with our snacks in hand. "That will be $19.92," the cashier says. "Thanks" I handed her 20 bucks and grabbed the food and drinks and started walking out to the car.

When we get out to the car jer finds that he has a missed call from Sava and a voicemail. We call her back and she answers on the second ring. "Hey" me and jer say at the same time. We are immediately greeted by Sava's voice. "Hey, we were just calling to see how far y'all are from this back road i think yeah it's by the i-15 it's called, w- ro- call back— wait - wha- that sound" the voicemail keeps cutting out. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh" Savas blood curdling scream sounds through the phone then the call cuts out. I look at Jere right as he looks at me i try to call her back but all I'm getting is her voicemail so i try to call kris, and she answers on the fourth ring. When she answers all i hear is hysterical laughing.  

 "Hey. hey are y'all ok. We tried to call Sava but all i got was her voicemail." i ask rushed. "Yeah, yeah were fine she heard a squirrel in a bush screamed and dropped her phone now its shattered." she laughs. "Thank god we thought y'all got kidnapped or something, don't scare us like that again." I sigh in relief. "But we do have a flat tire, and we can't get a hold of a tow. We were wondering if you could help." she says. "Yeah, where are y'all?" I asked her. "we're on some road called wavyn road off the i-15." she told me through the phone. "Ok thanks I'm on my way." I say as jer puts in the address.
