As I sit alone in my mansion, surrounded by the opulent decorations and expensive artwork, I feel a deep sense of emptiness. The silence is suffocating, a constant reminder of my parents' absence.

My phone buzzes, breaking the silence. It's Katty, texting me about our writing group meeting tomorrow.

"Hey, Jessie! Want to grab coffee before our meeting? I need your feedback on my new story"

I smile, feeling a spark of connection. Katty gets me. She understands the power of words and the comfort of solitude.

But as I type out a response, my mind wanders back to my parents. Why can't they be like Katty's family? Warm and loving. But I answered yes. I took a shower and I wore my blue jeans with my white t-shirts and sneakers, I made my hair in a pony tail and went to the coffee shop.

We met and set for about an hour busy talked and than katty asked...

"Your favorite book is 'The Great fall'?" Katty asked, eyes wide.

Jessie nodded. "I love how it explores the human condition."

"I know exactly what you mean!" Katty exclaimed. "I've read it five times."

Their conversation flowed effortlessly, like they'd known each other for years. Jessie felt a sense of belonging.

They connected really well always went on coffee dates, they even planned on writing a book together. Jessie too enjoyed having dinner with katty's family. She felt more of love that she never experienced they connected in another way.

Her parents haven't checked on her for a while now but she got a text from her mom for about a long ago that they will be coming for about four weeks from now just to stay for maybe two days just to check up on her "so much for being parents"

Their bond felt more stronger everday they've stayed together for about a month and a half now and they enjoyed each other company.

As they were talking katty told Jessie about the game tomorrow. The school had a match so she asked her to come with her and she agreed and after that long talk she went home.

"Please tell me your liking my book so far!!"
