A busy morning

POV: Charles Leclerc

I woke slowly, the morning light filtering through the curtains. My body was draped over something warm and soft. I blinked a few times, processing the cozy reality that I was lying next to Carlotta, who was still asleep, her chest rising and falling gently. I couldn't help but smile. The previous night had been tumultuous, filled with racing dreams and the haunting remnants of an unsettling nightmare.

As I shifted slightly, I felt a soft brush against my head—her lips. She was kissing my hair, a tender gesture that made my heart flutter. I couldn't resist any longer; I leaned down and pressed my lips to hers, a sweet, gentle kiss that spoke of all the emotions I was still sorting out.

"Thank you for helping me last night, mon ange" I murmured, pulling back slightly to meet her sleepy gaze.

"Always. Just breathe, love, and everything will be alright. I'm right here," she replied, her voice a soothing melody that wrapped around me like a warm blanket.

We lay there for a few moments, exchanging soft words and laughter. I loved how easy it felt to talk to her, how her presence calmed my racing thoughts.

"Do you want to explore the city today?" I asked, brushing a stray hair from her face.

"Absolutely! Let's see what it has to offer during the day," she said, her eyes sparkling  with enthusiasm.

After getting ready, we stepped out into the bustling streets, the scent of fresh pastries wafting through the air. We wandered through the vibrant marketplace, indulging in local delicacies and chatting about everything and nothing.

"Look!" I pointed excitedly at a sleek Ferrari storefront as we walked by. "There is the new driver! She is absolutely stunning, isn't she?"

Carlotta chuckled, her cheeks flushing slightly. "Sure, but have you seen driver number 16? He's not too shabby himself."

I laughed, glancing around as if the mention of my number might summon paparazzi. Leaning in, I gave her a quick kiss, my heart racing at how easy this all felt. But as I pulled away, she stood there, momentarily frozen, and I couldn't resist the urge to lean back in and kiss her more deeply this time.

"Sorry," I whispered against her lips, "I don't want to make my new crush jealous."

She playfully swatted my arm. "Sweet talker," she teased, the warmth in her smile making my heart skip.

We continued wandering, our laughter echoing in the crisp air. Eventually, we found a small park with blooming flowers and a tranquil fountain. It felt like a scene from a movie—just us, the sun shining down, the world fading away. I pulled her close, wrapping my arms around her waist as we shared a kiss under the shade of a blossoming tree.

After a while, we returned to the hotel, still buzzing from our adventure. Just as we settled in, our phones buzzed—Fred, our team principal, was calling us for an urgent meeting. I immediately grabbed my laptop while Carlotta took hers. We settled into our respective spots, me at the desk and her on an armchair by the bed, each putting on our earbuds to keep each other voices out of the group call.

Before the meeting started, I stood up and leaned over to give her a quick kiss. "I love you," I said softly, feeling the weight of those words as they left my lips.

"Love you too," she replied, her smile lighting up the room.

Fred joined the call, ready to discuss the new merchandise for the season. He outlined the upcoming plans, and I could sense the excitement in the air.

"As we're all enjoying our well-deserved vacations, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what lies ahead for us when we return to Maranello. I hope you're recharging and getting ready for an exciting new season.

When we come back, we'll kick off training for our drivers, Charles and our new addition, Carlotta. I believe this will be a fantastic opportunity for them to connect and for Carlotta to learn from Charles's experience. I'm confident that together they can bring fresh energy to our team.

I also want to remind everyone of the importance of our merchandising efforts. We need to keep our brand strong and continue engaging with our fans. When we return, let's focus on the upcoming product launches that will resonate with our supporters and reflect our passion for racing.

Lastly, let's think about our sponsors. Their backing is essential for our success, and we need to keep working on attracting new partners who share our vision. This will ensure we have the resources needed to compete at the highest level.

Any questions?"

"Can we make a hoodie for the fans and us, please? It's comfortable and I prefer it to the simple polo"

"We will think about that, Charles. Carlotta, we are making short t-shirts and tops for you, because we know that Prema did the same thing and you were comfortable with them, it's that ok?"

"Yes sure, thanks" Carlotta responded, with a smile on her face.

"And what number will you be putting on your helmet?" Fred asked, and I watched as her face lit up with determination.

"I'll always keep the number 8," she said confidently.

We continued through the meeting, discussing designs and what we wanted for our fans.

As the meeting wrapped up, I noticed how animated Carlotta had become, sharing her ideas and insights. When we finally ended the call, I jumped up, eager to close the distance between us. I pulled her laptop away and captured her lips in a kiss, feeling as though even thirty minutes apart had been too long.

"Missed you," I said, brushing my thumb along her cheek.

Just then, my phone buzzed again. Pierre was calling, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes. "It's Pierre," I said, chuckling. "Let's see what he wants."

As I answered, I felt a warmth settle in my chest. Today was just a day in the city, but with Carlotta by my side, it felt like the beginning of something extraordinary.

"Hey Pierre, what's up?"

"Mate, you won't believe it. Do you remember Laura?"

"Yes, Pierre"

"Well, she texted me saying that she want to meet up tomorrow!"

"Cool, mate, but I have to go. I have a... thing to do"

"Thanks for your support, Charles. Anyway, have a good sex at least"

Carlotta laughed a bit and I smiled at her, giving her a kiss on top of her head.

"You too tomorrow" I said to Pierre sarcastically. He laughed and closed the call.

We looked in each other eyes. I loved her grey eyes that, in the sun, looked blue, like ice.

And I loved them, just like the girl herself.
