"The coast is clear" says the captain, Bavid, looking out onto the control deck- where it had just been. "Sir? Are we making it out of this?" Javid asks, shaking uncontrollably. "Of course we are! Get it together, Javid! Bavid's walkie-talkie radios in. "Sir! This is Kavid speaking! I made it to the security room- the beast is in the cafeteria, eating a month's worth of thoughts!" Dammit. Bavid mumbles to himself, knowing it'll take at least another day to get the train of thought working again. Zavid walks up to Bavid. "Sir. The beast has taken Wavid! We need more crew members if we're going to make it out of this. Ravid is hiding in the supply closet, and Javid is in the fetal position, so I don't think they will be of any help. We need to do this fast before more are taken to it's lair!" This is way too much, way too fast! Bavid thinks, knowing the beast has never been this active before. Wait? You don't know what's happening? Well then- let me explain.
Welcome to the headquarters, the living space for all of David's brain cells. We control the reactivity, creativity, and ability to think. We help keep this place running, but lately there have been attacks. A monster- of which we call the brain fart (Gavid came up with the name! I suggested the vocalfillerzoid, but nooo that sounds stupid). It lives in the walls, coming out when it senses food. Our thoughts. At first, we defended them, but we lost cell after cell trying. Avid, Cavid, Favid, Havid, and many others... lost. Pavid was the hardest loss, he was always there for us... but that does not matter. What matters is keeping it away from the train of thought. Brain storms only come every month, raining down ideas and all of the sort, but the monster always gets to it first. Wait..? Where was I? Oh- shoot! We're in trouble!
"Hmm... ok, I know what to do. Zavid! I need you to distract the monster. Javid can be used as bait. There is only one way out of this- the reset button. The alarms will scare the monster back into hiding, therefore helping us win. I need you to keep it's attention for as long as possible." "Yes sir!" Zavid answers. "Wait... who are we keeping the attention of?" Javid inquires. "The brain fart, you idiot!" Zavid barks. "I-" "Into the cafeteria, NOW! And before you ask, NO! We are not stopping to grab any electron bars!" Zavid orders. Zavid and Javid creep away, leaving me alone. The reset button is halfway across the brain-space. In order to get there, I'll need to cross the hallways leading to the med-bay and electrical room, where the switch is. I know that it isn't a long walk, so this will be easy.
I began my trek down the hallway, being careful not to make any sudden noises- the beast can hear exceptionally well, even during a distraction. In the distance, I hear a scream- It's Javid's. I never really liked him, so whatever is happening will be fine to me. None of us really want to go through another funeral anyway, it's just getting sad and boring. If Javid were to really be gone, that would leave eight of us brain cells. Me (Bavid), Zavid, Gavid, Kavid, Wavid, Navid, Tavid, and Yavid. I wonder what'll happen if all of us die... best not to think about that. I continue my walk down the long hallway, and turn a corner. I see the med-bay ahead, which means I'm halfway there. I hear some footsteps, and out of the med-bay walks Gavid. "Oh, hey there d̶a̶d̶ I mean captain. Say do you know where Yavid is I was wondering if he was s̶i̶n̶g̶l̶e̶ I mean okay?" "Go away, Gavid. You're always messing things up." "Hey, hey, it's just when I think of two things at one they kind of r̶e̶p̶r̶o̶d̶u̶c̶e̶ I mean come together!" "You're always making David, our gosh-darn HOST, make mistakes, and it's almost always the worst possible outcome! I can't deal with you right now." "w̶h̶o̶ I mean what are you doing that is so important? Shouldn't you be d̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ hiding?" I push Gavid out of the way. "I'm going to flick a switch- something you're not competent enough to do." "Yeesh. you're being really h̶a̶r̶d̶ I mean rough today..." I walk past, toward the electrical room. What an idiot... I think to myself. Then I see it- the electrical room.
After Gavid, the nightmare the brain fart couldn't compare to, I have finally reached the electrical room- where we receive our power and send action thoughts to the rest of our host. The switch is right in front of me, and I run up to it. I flick it, and the room goes red. ERR. ERR. ERR. The alarms whir on, sending the place into a daze. The monster screeches, and the place is saved. I run back to the control room- Zavid, Gavid, and Tavid are there. Zavid is safe, thank goodness. The lights go back to normal, and we know that the monster has receded back into the walls. We may have won for now- at least until the next thought shipping- but I'd say job well done. Our host can think again, thank goodness.
