Season 3 - Chapter 25: Thieves

Paulit-ulit iyong sinabi sa kanila, ngunit byahe palang papuntang Eufrata ay tila nakalimutan na iyon ng dalawa. Ilang araw ng byahe at sa wakas... fucking finally. It took them four days to reach Eufrata using the Buggebrids. And neither one of them talked about the plans. Fuck the plans. Neither one of them talked about being safe and not causing harms just as what they were told. Bahala na.

Naalala ni Celestial ang unang beses niyang pagsakay sa ibon na iyon kasama ang kaniyang Ina, hindi niya naman naisip na sa sunod niyang pagsakay dito patungo sa Eufrata ay wala na si Almira. Celestial couldn't help but to reminisce her mom, the stinging pain is still fresh despite the span of time and her stern face. Matagal na iyon, pero yung sakit hindi nagbabago.

They landed on a forest near the Palace, hindi sila pwedeng magpakita. At maaari silang pagsuspetsahan lalo na ang pasaway na Archduke kung sakaling sa sentro naman sila bumagsak. Mas mainam ng mag-ingat, nasa Eufrata sila. They're disguised very well, she's wearing her black cape with weapons hidden well inside her suit, her sword tucked at her side. Meanwhile, the Archduke has concealed his horns. He got this trick to hide it, now he looks like a fine human. Perfect human being.

Punyawa, bakit ba 'di nalang naging tao 'to? He acts better than her. Well of course, he was trained to act like a noble eversince he was a kid so he's automatically acting noblesse now. While her--well, she's a trained assassin and unfortunately a reckless kid eversince and no signs of being a noble. She literally looks like the Archduke's personal bodyguard.

Eufrata is a very busy place, people has works, they don't just stop moving. Halos wala rin namang pinagkaiba sa Abyss, maliwanag nga lamang sa Eufrata kumpara sa Abyss. Kahit sa labas ng gate ay halata mo ring busy sa Palasyo. Malakas ang presensya ng palasyo, normal humans might don't feel it but they can clearly know there are commotions inside the closed gates and high walls. There's something going on inside the Palace so they need to be extra careful.

They began walking across the villages. It's very bright, far different from Abyss. There were twinkling lights with different colors. And the fact that it's blinking beautifully against the night, Celestial couldn't help but stare in awe.

She cleared her throat to get the Archduke's attention, "We should look for a place to stay for the night--"

The Archduke, as usual, cut her off; "Pathetic. We're going now."

"What?" Napairap siya.

Masama na naman itong tumingin sa kaniya, "Hindi ka naman bobo diba? Alam kong naintindihan mo ako."

Hindi niya na naman napigilan ang sagutin ito ng may iritasyon sa tono, "Huwag kang padalos-dalos, hindi natin gamay ang Eufrata!"

"Kaya kong makatakas kahit makita nila ako, problemahin mo ang sarili mo dahil hindi kita tutulungan kapag na-todas ka."

Suminghal na lamang siya sa inis, "Napakasamang ugali!"

"Kung hindi mo kaya, mamatay ka nalang."

"Mauna ka."

Kailan ba sila magkakasundo ng lalaking 'to? Wala atang kapayapaan sa bokabularyo nito o pakikipag-ayos.

The Archduke nonchalantly jumped over the roofs to get to the high walls of the Palace and she immediately followed at ease.

He managed to annoy her while jumping across the tops of every structure he could land, "Listen, peasant. I'll use my clones to enter the goddamn library, bahala ka sa buhay mo kung ano'ng gusto mong gawin, hindi ko kailangan ang tulong mo."

Clones? Oh right, one of Archduke Chalcedony's ability, he can generate maximum of ten (10) clones. One's who exactly looks like him. To the point na malilito ka kung sino ang totoong Archduke.

Celestial just clicked her tongue in annoyance. Suddenly, she remembered something. It's dark, it's evening. This is her favorite part, and it's night. This is the time where she's at her best, freely doing anything she want. It's better if she transforms as Suprema now, isn't it? Not that she'll change physically, she'll just be more adventurous and dauntless than what she is during the day.

And so she did, without a word, she passed the Archduke's pace. Chalcedony growled in annoyance as he jumped higher and faster to catch her. It's lucid, he's accepting the challenge and defeat is not in his vocabulary. And she was clearly enjoying it, they were changing positions as they reach the wall of the Palace faster than usual.

"Click your fucking tongue all you want, my decision is irrevocable." The Archduke said and continued jumping. He aimed for a higher jump and Celestial immediately positioned herself for a massive jump as well.

She sighed and replied, "Then I'll guard you outside. Or atleast lure the guards if ever they notice you."

Of course, it'll be very hard for them to notice the Archduke since his area is the dark, he don't need her help, but atleast she has something to do. Hindi na siya pinansin ng Archduke. Mukhang wala nga itong pakialam kung anuman ang gawin niya. Edi wow, sige, kanya-kanya na lang silang buhay.

They used the dark to teleport. Sa madilim na bahagi lang sila dumadaan at dahil gabi ay malaya nilang nalalampasan ang mga guwardiyang inaantok na. The guards in Eufrata are keen for humans, but they're no ordinary human so they can pass them easily.

The Archduke beamed in one open dark space and Celestial almost freaked out of his sudden disappearance. Masama siyang tumingin kay Chalcedony na ngayon ay nakangisi lang sa kaniya. Iniwan siya ng kumag. Wala talaga itong balak isama siya sa loob. Umirap na lamang siya at pinanuod ang Archduke na pumasok sa Palasyo sa pamamagitan ng dilim.

But before he left, he gave her an intimidating and insulting look that says; "Adios, peasant."
