Prapai sat at his desk, spacing out, staring at the chaotic lines of his latest sketch. For someone majoring in architecture, his inability to draw decent lines was frustrating, his drawings always end up being a mess. He could nail the math behind any design, he didn't even know how he came this long with his low ability in terms of drawing.
He put his pencil down when he remembered Sky, his junior. Sky is excellent at drafting, his lines are always sharm and proportional. They hadn't interacted much, he just often saw Sky at the bench alone or with his best friend, Rain.
Prapai helped Sky with his math problem a few weeks ago. After that, Sky looked at him with genuine relief and said, "I owe you one, P’Pai. Tell me next time if I can help you with something.”
Prapai thought it was his time to cash in on that favor. Luckily, Prapai easily found Sky at the university café, hunched over his own sketchbook, coffee by his side. With a deep breath, Prapai approached, plopping down at the chair in front with a sheepish grin.
"Nong Sky, remember when you said you owed me?" Prapai asked, pulling his rough sketch.
Sky glanced at the messy lines and chuckled softly. "Let me guess—you need help with this?"
Prapai nodded. "Yeah, I suck at this. My weakness, actually."
Without a word, Sky rolled his eyes and took the pencil from him and began explaining while correcting the lines, his hand moving effortlessly across the page. Prapai watched in awe as sku turned his disaster into a clean, structured drawing.
"See? Not so hard to break it down." Sky handed back the sketch pad, "I don't owe you anymore."
Prapai could only smile, grateful. "Thanks, Sky. I now owe you."
Sky chuckled. "No. We're now even, senior.”
Sky hadn't seen Prapai in weeks. Their busy schedules never seemed to overlap—Sky was always tied up with tons of schoolworks, and the school club as Sky was one of the officers.
It's not that Prapai wants to see Sky, nor is he in a rush to ask for help, but after their last encounter, he figured Sky would be his best bet to trach him when it comes to improving his drawing skills.
One afternoon, Sky was able to take a little bteak, hanging out with his friend Rain at the university bench. They were talking about the club activities, how it was stressing Rain out, like how he always is. His friend usually rant about everything but he still and do them because he loves it. Sky was busy listening, smiling a little, when rain nudged him.
"Hey, isn't that P'Prapai?"
Sky looked up, and sure enough, Prapai was walking towards them, holding a familiar-looking sketchbook under his arm. Sky doesn't know, but he felt a little guilt—they hadn't talked in weeks, and Prapai probably needed help with his work.
“Sky!" Prapai called, smiling sheepishly as he approached. "Been a while, huh?"
"Yeah, sorry about that. Busy with projects and club works," Sky replied, he doesn't know but he's offering him an applogetic smile.
Even though Rain loves gossips, he still excused himself, leaving the two alone. He will tease Sky when they're free and alone again.
"I’ll leave first. Sky, let's meet at the club office. Laters, best friend." Rain was grinning from ear to ear, waving his hand as a sign of good-bye
Prapai scratched the back of his neck, looking awkward. "Uh, so I've been meaning to ask ... could you help me again? With drawing, I mean. I'm willing to pay if you're willing to become my tutor.”
