The Birthday Trip

Chapter 1 - Normal School Days

On Monday, April 22nd, I woke up with nightmares at like 2 to 3 in the morning. I was scared about the field trip my math teacher, Mrs. Callie Spivey, gave our class to go to tomorrow. Every single person who had Mrs. Spivey had to go, but tomorrow is my birthday. At least I don't have to deal with my parents for my birthday week!

After I woke up, I just got a coloring sheet and started coloring until 6 AM. After 6:00 hit, my watch was going off, waking up everyone in the house. I got ready for school in ten minutes. I waited 30 minutes for the bus (while waiting, I was finishing the coloring I was working on), and it was very quiet in the house. After I got on the bus, I sat in the front (it's my favorite spot!)

While I was on the bus, I listened to music ( CG5, The Living Tombstone, and Nickelback) while waiting for my best-friend, Jocelyn Mason, to get on. Jocelyn is about the only person I talk to on the bus because she's in the same grade as me (7th Grade). When we got to school, I walked to Homeroom, and seen another best-friend, Addison Pham, in class. Addison and I talked about the field trip tomorrow; she knew that tomorrow was my birthday. Addison finally asked me,

"What are you doing on your birthday, Amelia?".

"I don't know", I said, " I might celebrate it while we are at the field trip".

To be honest, I didn't know on what I was going to do. What was I going to do, sing, "Happy Birthday", to myself? What else am I going to do, cry of by myself because nobody said, "Happy Birthday", to me? I wondered for a very long time, and it's all I could think about. I had too many thoughts in my head, and I don't know how to get rid of it.

On my way to 1st period, two others of my best-friends, Lenna (Lea) Glick, and Lillian (Sky) Coltharp, asked me about the field trip. They asked if I was doing something naughty to him. I just ignored them, acting like I was depressed, and I was, but also acting happy. I smile through pain all the time! I hate it, but I'm so used to it that I just go with the flow.

My 1st period is Cyber Foundations, a really easy class. Cyber Foundations is just a learning our computer basics class. After my computer class, I go to 2nd period, which is English. Addison is in both my first and second class, but she's my only friend in English. After 2nd period, everyone goes to break, which is only 20 minutes long.... it always feels like five minutes though.

Most of the time, one of my friends would come up to me, but someone else did. My boyfriend, Everitt Harbor, came up to me and asked me if I have had math class yet.

"No, I said, "I am next period though, why do you ask?".

"I'm scared, that's all.... (mumbles) I hope you are there tomorrow".

"Of course I'm going to be there, I have Mrs. Spivey, or did.... do you mean as in, not see you the whole time?"

Everitt looks at me and shakes his head yes and walks toward his friends. I should have told him I was scared too.... ugh.

Lea, Sky, Addison, Jocelyn, and another best-friend, Olivia Stephens, all came to me, and they kept asking me if I was ready for the field trip. Olivia realized that I was going to say no, and she was right.

"It's okay, we all were going to say no", Olivia said.

"Yeah.... I'm going to go talk to Everitt right quick", I said while walking away from them.

When I walked up to him, he realized I needed to talk to him by the look in my eyes.

"I'm scared too, you're not the only one here".
