New lifts his head and apologizes to Tay, and then looks around for his brother. When he spots Inn, he quickly turns around and ducks his head, and promptly knocks out Tay with his head. lol! New then hears his father on the motorbike, so he kicks the gate closed as his brother and father both go inside. New then realizes that Tay is unconscious. Oops...
The next day, New is reading over the contract and notices that in the breach of contract, the penalty is 100 times more for Party B. Tay complains about his dizziness which made him lose an important contract. He suggests New to sign the contract so he won't sue for damages. New reluctantly signs the contract and then they have a presentation on him. {Our contractual relationship is born!} Their backstory is that they fell in love while studying abroad in New York as that's where Tay's been for the past two years. New's backstory is that his father is a lawyer, his mother is a doctor and his brother is a medical student. New needs to remember all this before meeting Tay's grandfather next Sunday. Tay went to Harvard and was a top athlete as well. Tay's parents passed away in an accident when he was young.
Late at night, Tay has New check in with him to make sure that he's memorized everything. New then asks him if he remembers what he wore on the first day they met. Tay says that he has no idea.
New's meet cute story: They had bumped into each other on a rainy day. (New had looked up the weather for that day in New York). He was wearing a yellow rain jacket and Tay was carrying an umbrella.
(~9:02, they set up this scene in black and white, except for New's yellow rain jacket, and once they meet, the world comes into color, starting from Tay's umbrella turning from grey to yellow like New's rain jacket.)
They started their conversation in English but then New muttered out loud in Thai about having to pay for his dry cleaning as his clothes looked expensive. Tay had asked him in Thai if he's Thai.
Tay shoots down this story. He then rubs his head like it hurts and says that he doesn't like rainy days. He suggests that they change the date.
On the drive back home, New falls asleep and starts listing out of his seat towards Tay. Tay stops him with his hand, but when New wakes up and looks at him, Tay pushes him so hard that he slams his face into the window. Oof. Tay doesn't say anything and pretends to not notice him. After they drop New off, Tay notices there's an imprint of New's face on the window. He starts smiling, which makes Earth ask what he's smiling about, and he quickly says it's nothing. But he's still smiling...
Mix Dad insists on setting up more blind dates for Mix. Mix doesn't want an arranged marriage as he doesn't want to be miserable as his father was, and he won't marry unless it's for love. His dad tells him if he doesn't want to behave then he can move out. So Mix grabs his stuff to leave and his father demands the return of his credit card first. Mix wants to be independent, so he needs to live on the money he earns. Mix reluctantly hands it over to him and then he leaves.
The research department makes plans to recommend Namtan as the new chef for their "A Collaboration with the Chef" project. New shows up at his restaurant to take photos of the food, as Namtan quickly stuffs his face with each item as it's done being photographed. (lol) New asks Namtan about the Tom Kha Kai, which she didn't make. New tells her that it'll be a great item for Go Food. Once she leaves to make it, Mix starts teasing her about his crush on her. New retorts so he doesn't want to stay over at his place tonight? (Haha) Mix is learning how much things cost - such as a security deposit for a place. As Mix sleeps, New stays up all night working on Namtan's profile and proposal and then falls asleep at his desk. The next morning, when his mother wakes him up, he realizes that it's still incomplete and so he continues working.
At work, Ms. Godji is surprised that New completed the profile and proposal in one day. New says that it didn't take him long as he used the last one as a template. (Lies). To cater to the Thai palate, New's suggesting Nantan's white Tom Kha Kai as the main item for the company. Namtan's social media shows that she's very popular with the ladies, which will work to their advantage as their target market is customers in their 20s and 30s. Ms. Godji is a bit concerned about the Tom Kha Kai ingredients, so New says that they can do it. Since New's so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, Ms. Godji suggests that New give the presentation. Now New's freaking out because it'll be in front of Tay. So he pretends to have stage fright and resists going but Ms. Godji drags him to the meeting. New ends up wearing a face mask and even borrows his boss' glasses. Tay asks how he's going to present with the face mask, so New starts coughing and sneezing. Tay tells her to keep it on and to carry on
