Emptiness [Chapter One]

It was eerie when you went back inside the underground.

Because all the monsters were already exploring the surface, so the entire underground was empty.

The only sound you heard were your own footsteps.

And honestly, it was unsettling.

You wandered around for a little while until you made it back to Alphys' lab, where you saw that the door to the true lab was left open.

You thought that was because she left it open on purpose, so that all the amalgamations could leave.

But something told you that wasn't the reason the door was open.

So you decided to walk back inside and take the elevator down.

When you arrived back in the true lab, you walked past one of Alphys' entry boards.

Except, this time, it was in an unknown language when it turned on.

You looked at the board, trying to figure out what it was saying.

It looked like a bunch of hand gestures.

You walked away and saw the next board had similar text. More hand gestures.

You soon came to realize that these entries were not written by Alphys. They were written by someone else.

You walked past a table and saw a few pieces of paper scattered around on it.

You picked up one of the papers and read it.

"Tasks:
1. Figure out how to get the DETERMINATION EXTRACTION machine to work
2. Find SOUL CREATOR
3. Figure out where Gaster is and how to get him back"

You stared at the papers confused.

Alphys obviously wrote the to-do list, you recognized her hand writing.

And you knew about the Determination Extraction machine.

But what was the soul creator? And who's Gaster?

You decided to look around the lab a little more to see if you could find anything.

You found a photograph under all the papers and picked it up.

The photograph was old and worn but you could still see the picture clearly.

It was Asgore and Toriel's wedding day.

Asgore and Toriel were in the middle, smiling and holding onto each other.

On Toriel's right was a bunny girl you didn't recognize.

On Asgore's left was a tall skeleton in a suit wearing glasses.

You didn't recognize him either. But for some reason, this skeleton was circled many times in red ink.

Then you saw a letter from Asgore to Alphys and read it.

"Dear Alphys. I'm very happy to have found a new replacement for the royal scientist, aka you. Your work is very impressive and I look forward to working with you, my friend. I understand that you are still new to the job but I have to ask you for a favor, regarding my previous scientist. W.D. Gaster was a very skilled and genius scientist, and he was also my very best friend. I'm not sure how, or which machine did it, but he had a terrible accident in the lab and he disappeared. Now, I know you are a scientist and not a detective. But if you have the time, I would like you to try to figure out what happened to him. And if there's any way to possibly bring him back. Kind regards, King Asgore Dreemur."

After reading the letter, you pulled out the picture of Asgore and Toriel's wedding day.

The skeleton in glasses must have been W.D. Gaster.

After putting everything back, you decided to continue looking around to see if you could find out anything else about this mysterious Gaster guy.
