When Taehyung arrived at the police station, everyone was already present except Elder Kim and the other women. Seeing him, the head police officer approached and asked, “Are you Kim Taehyung?”
Taehyung simply nodded in agreement. The officer then led him to the area where the dead body was kept. Taehyung's breaths were coming fast, feeling as if someone was trying to pull his very soul from his body. He was struggling to stay calm, but a dreadful fear kept surfacing in his mind repeatedly.
The Officer guided him to a room where a body lay on a table, completely covered with a white sheet. Taehyung walked right up to the table and reached to uncover the face, his hand trembling badly. Memories of every moment with Jungkook flashed before his eyes, forcing him to close them. Summoning his courage, he quickly pulled the cloth back from the body, and as he slowly opened his eyes, he whispered in relief, “Thank god… it’s not my wife.” Hearing this, the officer covered the body again and walked out with Taehyung.
Outside, everyone was waiting anxiously for Taehyung. As soon as they saw him, his face was completely expressionless. Seojoon, alarmed, asked, “What happened? Jungkook…”
Before he could finish, Taehyung interrupted, “It’s... it’s not my Bun.”
Hearing his response, everyone let out a sigh of relief and began thanking God. Just then, Dojun came in and approached Taehyung, saying, “Boss, we have a clue…”
Taehyung signaled for him to continue, and Dojun played footage from the camera in front of the center, where Jungkook could be clearly seen. It looked like he was waiting for someone. He stood there for some time, and then suddenly, his expression changed. He looked angrily in one direction and started walking that way. It wasn’t clear what he was looking at, as the camera was focused on him.
Taehyung asked, “Any other footage?”
Dojun replied, “No, Boss. Mr.Jungkook was only captured on this camera.”
Taehyung then instructed, “Trace those goons' phones; maybe they’re the ones who kidnapped Bun.”
Dojun said, “No, Boss, those two have been in Busan for the past 10 days. They can’t be involved in any of this.”Taehyung shouted angrily, “Then where is my wife? It’s all my fault. I should never have trusted anyone else with him… Deploy all the forces. Use as many people as needed. I want my wife back safe and sound as soon as possible.”
It was 4:00 a.m., and it had been 11 hours since Jungkook disappeared, yet no one knew where he was. Taehyung’s breathing grew more erratic with each passing moment. He was out of control, roaming restlessly, having neither eaten nor rested, frantically searching for his wife like a madman. There wasn’t a single street in Seoul he hadn’t searched for him, clinging to the hope that he might see him somewhere and finally find peace for his restless heart.
