CHASE'S POV

Visiting my worst day in all of the calendar. All other students were happy seeing their parents, but what? It's so f*king embarrassing.

"Can't you at least smile for me, honey?" Mum begged.

"I don't feel like seeing you. Get out of my school, you embarrass me," I said like I meant it. In truth, I did, but I wanted her to pay for ruining my life.

She slowly wiped a tear from the corner of her eye.

"What do you want from me?" she asked.

"I want you to f*** off," I said, and with that, my cheek stung. My eyes widened in shock—my own mum had just hit me.

"See what you made me do, Chase. What is wrong with you? Why do you hate me so much?" she asked, her voice breaking at every word.

"Because you're a f***ing whore who can't even provide the father of her only child," I shouted in her face, and she flinched a bit in fear.

"I've had enough of your nonsense, Chase. When you're OK, I'll come back, but until then, suit yourself," she said, and with that, she got in her car, and the driver drove her off.

I hate my mum, and it's an understatement. I know I feel more than that towards her. If she knew that giving birth to me was going to ruin my life, maybe she should have aborted me. I don't know who my father is, and it’s a huge setback for me.

I wiped away my tears and hoped for something better. I want a bright light.

I wiped my tears and went up to my dorm room. It’s not like I have a roommate to talk to; Michael is just there.

I watched her from afar, my angel—the only girl I've ever loved with my whole heart. She was as gorgeous as heaven, and I wanted her for myself.

I walked up close to her. Today is the day I'm going to tell her how I feel about her. Her ginger hair just added a beautiful touch to her.

I had asked her to meet me at the lounge, and she was already here.

"Hi, Anna," I said, and she smiled upon seeing me; it was her usual innocent smile.

"Hey, C. Why did you call me here?" she asked.

"I wanted to tell you something, but I want you to have this first," I said, giving her a bouquet of flowers.

"Awww, thank you," she said, smelling them.

"So, about what you wanted to say?" she asked.

"Uhmm, that… I just wanted to let you know that I've never felt for anybody the way I feel for you. You make me feel complete, and the way you stand up against Dylan and Ryan is truly mesmerizing. I just wish we could be something more. I like you, and I wish you could be my girlfriend," I said, the words rolling off my tongue like the sweet words of poetry.

I looked at her, hoping for a positive reply. But what I got shocked me. The usual spark in her eyes was gone. She let out an evil laugh, and I was stunned.

She stood up, turning the bouquet toward me.

"Oh my God, now every d*** riffraff thinks they can have me, even Chase, the illegitimate b******," she said.

I was shocked, and my eyes widened.

"An...," I stammered, like I usually do.

"Look, Chase, you're cute and all, but trust me, I can't be with a guy who can't stand up for himself and can't even pronounce my name in one go," she said.
