"I'm a coward when it comes to matters of the heart. That is my fatal flaw."
______Wanda's POV
Nyxa was kissing her.
Her heart was racing so fast in her chest she felt unsteady. But Nyxa's mouth was on her and so her hands moved to the woman's face out of instinct, almost wanting to hold her there to make sure she didn't bolt. Wanda pulled back after a moment, smile on her face. Nyxa's eyes were still closed though and the woman cupped her face to rest their foreheads together. "Nyxa," Wanda near teased, wanting to know what was clearly overtaking her mind."Just," Nyxa breathed, "just give me a second." She did. After a few of them those eyes opened, purple so beautiful. Nyxa pulled back slightly and looked at her a little worriedly. "I do like you. And I think you're one of the most astounding people I've ever met." Wanda struggled to contain her smile, softening when she saw Nyxa breathe softly. "But I need you to be patient with me." Nyxa's breath was shaky. "I want to... to try, but it's not always going to be easy. I'm not always going to be easy. We're coworkers, too so-" Wanda quickly cupped her face, seeing that she was about to drive herself into a panic with all the potential issues.
"There's no rush," She soothed, Nyxa holding her one wrist and bowing her head. "Everything's okay." The raven haired woman swallowed, looking only slightly unsettled. Wanda felt for her. She knew Nyxa probably felt guilty and scared, about all of it. So she rested their heads together once more. "You're okay," She laughed softly, hearing a breath follow.Nyxa looked at her, eyes showing a lot of emotions. "Okay," Nova whispered, Wanda unable to not smile. She nodded, their faces close. But she found that now that she knew what kissing Nyxa was like, she really didn't want to stop.
"Do you think we can..." Wanda nudged their faces closer and Nyxa got the message loud and clear, both of them smiling as their mouths found each other once more.
______
"Like garden gnomes?"
"But bigger."
Wanda laughed, trying hard to imagine it all. She rested her head on a fisted hand and watched Nyxa, feeling peaceful. For the first time in a long time. Nyxa looked like she felt the same. The raven-haired woman had signed the accords today, Wanda still having not decided yet, but they hadn't spoken a word of it since. There was no need to.
It might've been tearing the team apart but Nyxa didn't seem phased and neither did she. Steve wasn't here, neither was Nat; she'd left about an hour ago. "Do you cook?"Nyxa raised an eyebrow. "I can... you're choosing now to size me up?"
Wanda laughed lightly at that. "Maybe," She teased. The news was on, not that she'd been paying attention.
"Then you should know that I posses great domestic skills."
Wanda gave that a point in her mind, not that Nyxa actually needed any. She could have no domestic skills and Wanda didn't think she'd have cared any less. "Good to know."
Nyxa suddenly straightened up, focusing on the screen."They're showing the signing."
The reporters were all in Vienna, where the signing was taking place. Natasha was attending. "You still okay with not being there?" Wanda asked and saw Nyxa glance at her.
