Reva felt as if she were tumbling through an endless void of pitch-black darkness. She had no sense of time or place; everything was swallowed by a heavy, suffocating emptiness. Her mind struggled to grasp onto anything solid, anything real, but she found only shadows and a sense of loss.

Water roared around her, echoing like a relentless tide. Icy cold waves surged over her head, pressing against her chest and filling her mouth and nose. Her body convulsed, instinctively fighting to breathe. Panic clawed at her, her limbs thrashing in the void, desperate to reach the surface.

Then, suddenly, light exploded around her. Reva's eyes snapped open, and she broke through the water's surface, gasping for air. Bright sunlight assaulted her senses, blinding her. She coughed and sucked in deep, shuddering breaths, trying to make sense of where she was. The world was vivid and overwhelming, a stark contrast to the suffocating darkness.

Disoriented, she stumbled in the waist-deep water, feeling the smooth ceramic tiles beneath her feet. Reva's heart pounded as she looked down at herself. Her stomach—flat, utterly flat.

Her children. Gone.

Terror gripped her, and she pressed her hands against her belly, disbelief coursing through her veins. “My children…” she whispered, her voice breaking. The sound startled her, and she clamped a hand over her mouth. Her eyes widened in shock.

I can speak?

Her voice, which had been taken from her, now rang out clearly. Shaking, she touched her lips and then slid her fingers inside her mouth, feeling her tongue—whole and smooth. Tears welled in her eyes as disbelief washed over her. “How…” she choked out, her voice raw and bewildered. Is this the tongue I lost two years ago?

Her gaze darted around the pool. Golden sunlight danced across the clear blue water, refracting off the tall, elegant walls of the Rajvansh mansion. She knew this place intimately, every curve and corner of it. It was a gilded cage where she had once dreamed of a happy life, only for those dreams to shatter.

Reva stared down at herself, drenched and trembling. Her white shirt clung to her curves, nearly transparent in its soaked state, revealing the dusky outline of her nipples. Her pink underwear, delicate and sheer, offered little coverage. Her heart stuttered in her chest. The image was disturbingly familiar.

This can’t be happening. A terrible sense of déjà vu twisted her gut. Memories she had tried to bury now surged back, vivid and merciless. Once, she had been Reva Rathore, the beautiful, promising wife of Aarav Rajvansh, the eldest heir of the powerful Rajvansh family. But her life had been marred by betrayals and heartbreak.

Her last memory was of drowning—helpless and suffocated. Her fingers curled into fists, nails biting into her palms. Yet now, she stood here in the Rajvansh mansion’s pool, not pregnant, her voice restored. Her heart thumped wildly, refusing to believe the impossible truth that was taking root in her mind.

“Am I… alive again?” she whispered. Her words carried into the air, unmistakable and solid. The idea was absurd, a wild fantasy, but she couldn't shake the growing certainty.

She turned her gaze toward the exit, her breath quickening. I have to get out of here, she thought. I have to figure out what’s going on.

Without wasting another moment, Reva waded through the water, her limbs growing steadier with every step. As she neared the pool’s edge, she reached for the ladder. But as she lifted herself up, her foot slipped on the slick tiles, and she let out a startled yelp. Her body twisted, her balance gone, and she fell backward in a clumsy, panicked motion.

Her fall ended with a jarring impact. She crashed onto something hard, her body sprawled across a surface that felt… disturbingly warm and unyielding. Reva groaned, the air forced from her lungs. The shock of the collision made her blink, dazed and breathless.

But it wasn’t just any surface she had landed on.

She registered it belatedly. Her hips were pressed against something firm, and her legs straddled what felt like… Oh, no. Heat flooded her cheeks as realization dawned on her, her face going crimson with embarrassment.

Before she could fully comprehend the humiliating position she found herself in, a low, icy voice sliced through the stunned silence. “Get off me.”

Her breath hitched, and she lifted her gaze slowly, dread pooling in her stomach. She was met with a pair of piercing, stormy eyes, their coldness chilling her to the bone. Krishiv Rajvansh. The man who embodied the ruthless power of the Rajvansh family, the man whose presence was an enigma she could never unravel.

His dark hair was damp, as if he had only recently emerged from the pool. His shirt clung to his sculpted chest, and his chiseled jaw clenched as he stared at her with thinly veiled irritation. But what held her captive was the way her body was plastered against his, her hips positioned right over… Oh, God.

A mortifying blush burned across her face, and she scrambled off him, her limbs tangling in her haste. “I-I’m so sorry,” she stammered, her voice a mix of panic and disbelief.

Krishiv’s eyes narrowed, and he pushed himself upright, his jaw tightening. He was not a man who tolerated such close contact lightly, and the icy air between them made that clear. He looked down at her, his gaze sharp and unyielding, as if he could cut her down with a single glance.

“What the hell are you doing here?” he demanded, his voice laced with barely restrained anger.

Reva’s mouth went dry. She opened her mouth to respond but found herself at a loss. How could she possibly explain this? That she had been reborn? That she didn’t understand why she was here or how she had landed, of all places, on him?

Her mind spun, searching for words, but Krishiv’s glare only grew frostier. The familiar, heart-stopping tension between them returned, a battle of wills neither had ever truly won. And yet, beneath his coldness, there was something else—a flicker of recognition in his eyes, one that made her heart beat even faster.
