"Enaeya!"

I was jolted from my slumber by my mother's frantic calls. "Enaeya! Get up, quickly!" Her voice broke through the fog of dreams, urgent and trembling, like a thunderclap heralding a storm. My heart raced as I struggled to open my eyes, the remnants of sleep clinging to me like cobwebs. A cacophony of screams and the metallic clash of swords crept into my ears, sharpening my senses. I jumped from my bed, my mind still hazy, but my instincts screamed for me to hurry.

As I stumbled out of the small room in our modest stone cottage, I caught a glimpse of the vivid blue sky through the narrow window, now marred by the shadows of fear descending upon us. Fire crackled in the distance, a bright flash against the serene spring morning, and dread coiled around my chest as my mother, her face rigid with resolve, pulled me toward the back door.

"Stay close to me!" she urged, her grip fierce on my wrist. I nodded silently, feeling the weight of her fear cling to my limbs. My mind was still reeling, the peaceful life we led suddenly jarring into chaos. The world outside was no longer the home I had known.

We burst through the back door into daylight-yet the beauty of a spring day lay butchered beneath an oppressive veil. The air was thick with smoke, acrid and bitter, stinging my nostrils. My eyes widened, horror dawned at the scene unraveling before me. Our quaint town was a battlefield, the cobbled streets slick with blood and strewn with fallen bodies-guards and townsfolk alike, faces frozen in the throes of terror.

Dark-skinned monsters with red eyes and unsightly appearance, creatures I had only heard whispered in cautionary tales. Their forms were a grotesque mockery of humanity, tall and hunched, with elongated limbs that twisted unnaturally. Their skin glistened, a sickly shade of gray, marred by patches of matted hair and festering wounds. They lunged through the chaos like shadows made tangible, their grotesque forms bristling. There was no room for thought; only primal responses. I felt a surge of fear so powerful it left me paralyzed at the sight of the carnage. What I witnessed before me was just pure horror.

As the monsters descended upon the fallen soldiers and terrified civilians, I felt my skin crawl with revulsion. The first soldier-a young man, barely out of his teens-screamed as one of the creatures lunged at him, its jagged teeth sinking into his shoulder. I winced, a visceral reaction coursing through me as the sound of bones breaking echoed like a death knell. He fought desperately against the relentless grip, but the creature was merciless, dragging him backward as his cries faded into a choked gurgle.

I felt a wave of nausea wash over me as I saw another soldier being lifted into the air by one of the monsters, its jaws snapping shut around his neck with a sickening crunch. The soldier's screams were cut short as his body was torn in half, blood and gore splattering the ground in a grotesque display of violence.

And in the distance, a group of civilians huddled together, their faces painted with terror. A woman clutched a child to her chest, her eyes wide and pleading. But the creatures were upon them in an instant, moving with a speed that defied logic. I watched in horror as a creature's claw sliced through the air, severing the child's small arm in a single, brutal motion. The mother's scream pierced the night, a sound so primal that it resonated deep within my core. I felt a bile rise in my throat as I recoiled from the sight, but I couldn't look away.

I stood paralyzed, eyes wide as I beheld the horror unfolding before me. Vile creatures tore through the streets with horrifying ease. Each moment dragged on, the brutality unfolding like a nightmarish dance. They delighted in the brutal dismemberment of both soldier and civilian, tugging limbs from bodies as if they were flourishing crops, blood and guts splattering against cobblestones like sinister paint upon a canvas. And the air was thick with the acrid scent of blood and despair, a pungent reminder of the chaos that had swept through our town like a dark tide.
