I cling to the window ledge, my ice blue eyes squeezed tight. I can hear her in the distance, her heels clicking down the long, elegant hallway. I bite my lower lip and open my eyes, glancing behind me. The soft, lush grass isn't far below, only fifteen feet down. I swallow and look back into the window. My mother's heels click closer to the door.
I take a deep breath and let go of the ledge.

"Hey, isn't that....?" a rumbling voice says next to me.
I try to open my eyes, yet can't seem to do so.
"Yeah, that is." Another voice, female, smooth.
"Did she fall on purpose?" That rumbling voice.
"Did you not just watch her let go of the ledge, Amorus?"
"I just don't understand why she'd want to run away, Rosalina!"
"Just shut up and help me get her to the shelter before those bandits try something."
