Just One Time

charles' pov

I'm standing infront of a local bar in Bahrain, after seeing my private life be dissected on some gossip page I decided to take a break from public pubs and do my drinking at home. But after arriving I decided to cave. I mean what could go wrong.

Not planning on going home with anyone I went inside, I'm desperate to blow some steam off by getting wasted but that was all.

The start of the season is so soon and with everyone breathing down my neck I just want to stop everything that would make my life any harder.

———

Three drinks in, my problems have disappeared from my mind, I can feel the buzz that has kind of kicked in. As I look at my surroundings that are filling up with more and more people, I decide to go to the back where the VIP lounge is.

I head directly to the bar once I managed to get inside, instantly the atmosphere feels more secure and I feel less jumpy about strangers being so close to me.

Which could be the reason why I don't notice her straight away and walk straight into her. She winced and mumbled some inaudible words before she looked up at me, "I'm so so sorry, I wasn't really looking ahead of me because I got a text from my friend Ellie." Her words came out kind of slurred but that wasn't the first thing that stood out to me, it was her beauty.

Even in the dim lighting I could tell that she was the most beautiful girl I had ever laid my eyes upon. Long brown hair framed her mesmerising face, matching her big brown eyes looking up at me.
There was something about them that seemed familiar, I just couldn't seem to place it.

"Oh no, don't worry about it. I wasn't really paying attention either." I don't really want to bring it up since it seems unnecessary but the question just won't leave my mind. "I'm so sorry but do we know each other? You look so familiar."

Her facial expression changes momentarily, you can literally see her try and process the question, wondering if she knows me. Her eyebrows furrow, head tipping slightly to the side and her mouth a little gaped, paint a pensive expression.

"Hm, now that you mention it, yeah I do know you. Your eyes." She stretches her hand out, one finger directly pointing to my eyes. I can feel my cheeks heat so I look anywhere but her and clear my throat. Her hand lowers as she continues talking.
"I can't place from where though, I'm sorry. My memory gets really bad whenever I drink."

"Mine too. Listen I'm really sorry about bumping into you, could I interest in an apology drink?" Please say yes. Wait why do I even care?
