The pots and glassware cling around in my arms as I hurriedly rush down the pitch black hallway. I frantically grab more items to my now tower of objects wobbling in my hand, ranging from jewelry I found in a chest in their bedroom, to gold spoons and forks that were found in a cupboard. The darkness veils me, and I creep towards a large dark-wood door. I slowly open the door, praying that the door doesn't expose me. I squint my eyes trying to adjust to the dim room, as I ransack all of their valuables. The silver plates and goblets rattle in the comically big potato sack I found in the trash. "God! I can't be caught, or else he'll never let me go on another mission with him anymore" I whisper under my breath. I ran through what felt like a maze of hallways until I found the staircase. "YES! He'll be so proud of all the stuff I found, and some of these will go for millions in the market, maybe we'll even get to buy some meat, instead of those disgusting potatoes we always get" I think in my head before gagging at the thought of potatoes. I rush down the stairs, a grin stretching from ear to ear on my face, before my foot misplaces and slips on the woven carpet. I had a millisecond to react until loud banging rang through my ear canal. I cringe with every thump, and shattering glass echoes through the hallways. Panic surges through me, and I barely register the world around me. My heart races as I take a step back. I slowly regain my balance but then my foot slips on a shard, sending me down the second flight of stairs. I feel the impact of each step against my body, the sharp pain mixing with my growing dread. My vision gets blurry, and I black out.
