"EDITH,EDITH,WAKE UP BEFORE WE GET CAUGHT. EDITH GET UP" I wake up to see my older brother, shaking me awake.
"W-what happened...?" I ask him, the last thing I can remember is blacking out after feeling a sharp pain. He only purses his lips in response while avoiding eye contact. "What happe-" I repeat my question again before he cuts me off abruptly "Just get up and DO NOT look down at your arm.." he says while helping me stand up by grabbing my left arm. He drags me along the house we were stealing from while whisper-shouting at me to hurry up. I look down at my arms in curiosity and find that my right arm is...
Missing
My eyes widen in shock and fear as I stare at my now-missing arm. I freeze in my tracks, which causes my brother to turn around to face me.
"I told you not to look down!" He whisper-shouted at me while trying to drag me out of the house. He quickly grabs a cloth from somewhere in the house and wraps it around what is left of my right arm to soak up the blood.
By the time we're back home the cloth is completely bloodied up and I'm in EXTREME pain. I keep muttering apologies to my brother like "It's all my fault." and "I'm sorry" while he's trying to stop the bleeding and fix up my arm the best he can.
"Be quiet or else I'm never letting you on a mission AGAIN." He has a cold tone to his voice and a stern look on his face clearly annoyed a bit by my apologies. His words were enough to shut me up. I still want to go on missions even after my first one was a... disaster. He finishes wrapping cloth around my stump that used to be my arm. My mind was racing with questions like "How will I live now? How am I going to eat? How long will I live with this for? Will I get used to having one arm?" and much more. Edward notices the look of fear and worry on my face and sighs, his expression softening a bit.
"Everything will be fine. We'll get used to it and figure things out...Okay?"
I wasn't sure if he was saying this to me or himself but I just nod my head while tears are starting to run down my face. The pain had subsided a bit but it still hurt. Edward noticed the tears on my face and hugged me abruptly and tightly. He pulled away with a small smile on his cut-up face, which many of the older people in the town have said would "ruin his chance of getting a wife". He wiped the tears from my face with his thumb... his thumb on his right arm...only reminding me more that I didn't have a right arm anymore.
"Just go to sleep right now and I'll figure everything out."
