Final Chapter
After the interview, I go back to my green room. As I sit nearly collapse on the plush sofa.
My mobile rings and I answer it. “Hello?”
“Niall, nice to talk to you,” my manager greets. “How was your first concert?”
“Brilliant. I loved every moment of it, even the interview afterwards.”
“Good, I have excellent news for you.”

Ellie and I walk towards Niall’s dressing room. We stop short when we hear one half of a conversation going on.
“Alright. . . . okay. That’s brilliant. ‘Kay thanks, bye.”
We walk through the door and Niall smiles brightly. “Hey guys.”
“Hey. Who you talking to?”
“My tour manager.”
“And?”
“I’m going on my tour two days from now.
My heart is thundering in my ears, my hands shaking violently. He can’t leave so soon . . . he can’t leave me.
Eleanor looks as shell-shocked as I for we both love our Irish leprechaun.
“You’re leaving?” I ask, my voice none too steady.
“The tour date has been moved up so, yeah, looks like I’m leaving in two days,” he shrugs. Despite his nonchalant words, I can see the tension in his eyes and shoulders. He doesn’t think I can see those but I can see through him. He is my best mate for crying out loud.
“Don’t you need a team for touring and stuff?” El asks.
Yeah, don’t you?
“Yeah but it’s all been arranged. They told me to pack a big suitcase and be ready to leave for a month.” After a long pause, he adds, “Unless the American reactions are better than we expect.”
“What’s gonna happen then?” I query.
“We might add some nights in American venues. And from what she’s told me, a lot of American viewers watched my concert and the interview on a livestream thing. They already love Little Things and What Makes You Beautiful. They are also going to release the album early so that it’s out at midnight.”
“That’s awesome!” El walks up to hug Niall tightly. “I’m so happy for you.”
“Me too,” I murmur quietly.
