Chapter 4

"Adeline, this is my son, Seth Vincent."

Natulos ako sa kinatatayuan ko. I really can't believe who I am seeing. It couldn't be. A lot of thoughts came rushing in my mind. Flashbacks of what we all did. I was so confused, nervous and shocked. Lahat na ng emosyon! Parang gustong kumawala ng puso ko ngayon.

"Adeline," I was taken aback when my Mom held me. "Do you guys know each other?" bakas pa rin ang saya sa tinig niya.

"Oh! No!" I was so nervous that I said that, I saw how his brow shut and immediately looked away. "H-Hi..." I gulped as he looked back at me and I stared at his deep eyes. I stretched out my hands in front of him. "I'm Adeline."

He nod. "Seth." he took my hand and shake it once before letting it go.

I immediately hid my hands at my back. Para akong napaso sa kamay niya, my hands were also shaking hearing his cold and serious voice, far from the Sev I knew. Sev looks sweet, nice and soft, while he is like the opposite. Or was it just because of this situation we're in.

Does he know?! Or was he also shock?

I didn't know what to think or do.

I gritted my teeth. I wanna get out of here but I know the day just started.

We sat down in our dining table, there's a lot of food in the table. It's like a feast. Hindi na kumalma pang muli ang pagtibok ng dibdib ko. I'm so nervous and still in deep shock.

Sev will soon to be my stepbrother!

Everything was going well between the two of us and now, suddenly, he will be my stepbrother. It's a lot to take in. Everything is overwhelming me, that the situation move but I'm still stuck.

If I knew, I would never ever ask him to sleep with me.

But did I regret everything between us? Absolutely not.

We are sitting beside each other, which is weird! I can't move knowing he is beside me. His mere presence now makes me uneasy. Our parents are sitting across us. They are talking and laughing while eating, habang hindi ko naman halos manguya ang kinakain ko.

Our parents tried to include us with their conversation. Asking us things about ourselves, tipid lang kami sumagot sa mga tanong, pero mas tipid ako sumagot. I just want this lunch to be over.

"Are you not gonna eat?" Sev whispered which sent shivers down my spine.

"Please, don't talk to me." I didn't even glanced at him.

Talking to him doesn't make any sense now. It feels wrong talking to him, I feel like I am committing a huge mistake. Gladly, he didn't dare to ask me another question or strike a conversation with me.

"We will be having an engagement party this January." my Mom announced. Today is the last week of November.

Napatitig ako sa kanila at tumitig din sila sa amin. I didn't know what to say so I didn't say anything. They're all smiling and their face looks expectant. Are we supposed to say something... or not?

"We will surely save the date, Tita." Sev is the one who talk first and I just nod my head.

My Mom clasped her hands in excitement. "I'm so excited! And there's another thing! We will be moving in together next week to our new house."

"What?" I immediately exclaimed.

She said that like it's a great idea when it's really not! What were they thinking! They're making decisions without considering our behalf.
