I stood in the middle of the room, hands on my hips, surveying the space. The workers had just finished cleaning, and everything looked spotless.

Not that I cared about making it welcoming for her, but the last thing I needed was Heer's annoying ass complaining about every little thing once she moved in.

The bed was neatly made, with fresh linens tucked in tightly. I'd made sure to pick out neutral colors-nothing too fancy, just simple and clean.

A small part of me wondered if she'd like it, but I quickly brushed the thought aside. I wasn't here to impress her, after all. This was just to make sure I didn't have to hear her whine about anything.

Near the window, I'd set up a study table. It was spacious enough for her to spread out her books, her laptop, or whatever she needed.

Not that I was trying to make her life easier or anything, but I had done my research-okay, maybe stalked is too strong of a word-on her background.

She was still working on her further studies, and I figured she'd need a quiet space for that. I also added a bookshelf, already stocked with a few medical textbooks and journals.

Not that I'd ever admit it, but I might have spent a little too much time looking into what she might need. This wasn't about impressing her, though.

This was just to keep her from nagging me with complaints later.

Yeah, that's what it was.

I grabbed one of the books from the shelf, flipping through it absentmindedly. She'd probably appreciate it. Maybe she'd even think I was thoughtful, though I'd never let her see me sweat about it.

I placed the book back carefully and straightened up, looking around the room one last time. It was perfect.

No reason for her to complain about anything now.
