REAPING

The sun shone through the blinds, as I groaned in frustration. In the undergrown city of the coin, work started early as soon shouts of the traders reached my ears, I knew it was time to get to the town square to try and find unsuspecting merchants to pickpocket and as well, to make deals with; but my nausea and hangover from last night tell me otherwise, and I seriously doubt stepping foot outside today. It was reaping day. And everyone from the city comes over to the town square to try and see a glimpse of goddesses, congratulating the selected winners on going to their stupid Academy, Titan Falls.

"You should come to the square with me today" Xavier spoke emerging from the doorway and handing me a bottle of water, his lips smacking at every syllable as he took another bite out of his stale bread "Apparently there doing a sale at Higgins home for handful appliances, and I was going to pawn some of these items I pick potted yesterday"

My eyes glossed over to him, as I sat upright on the worn-out sofa, and I winced, my muscles sore "I'll pass, I have work to do and deals to make" Standing up slowly, I wobbled on my balance, as I limped towards the broken hanger and pulled on my worn denim jacket, and tied my knotted dirty blonde streaked hair into a ponytail. "I'll catch you later though in town and we can get a coffee or whatever you want Xav"

"That would be great, although before you leave I need to tell you something " His voice wavering, as the sound of his footsteps closed in on me, and my frown deepened. I turned around "What is it?"

"I submitted your name... into the reaping." His voice lowered, into a whisper as fury licked my veins. I beg his fucking pardon? I walked towards him, closing the distance between us as I stared down at him, betrayal toiling around in my gut. "Repeat what you just said again."

I growled, as I held onto his crinkled collar and pulled him forwards "Tell me this is a joke. And you're just pulling my hair"

His eyes grew alight with fear as he struggled to get out of my grip, his hands flailing "I want you to have a good education, it doesn't matter if you have no powers, you can finally get a respected job and earn good money after the academy! It brings opportunities Kal, don't you see it?" He pushed himself off me, as his voice rose, his hands shaking as he stared at me defiantly "I'm trying to do what's best for you!"

My hands shook with rage, and my mind etched to lose control as the world spun around me, Xavier's exasperated pleading voice grew fainter as jumbled thoughts and visions hurled around me, and my body trembled as I soon felt an abundance of energy cascading from my limbs, my hands, my spine my head "How do you know what's good for me?" I roared at him, as the apartment quaked with Unearthed power "Can't you just stop Interfering, with my Life?" Suddenly the remainder of the wall exploded, blasting into the air in tiny pieces, it fell from the sky and into the unsuspecting crowds below as they went up in a cry.

My hands twitched as a void of an orb formed at both of my hands, my hair flying up, as I was submerged into the air, away from Xavier as his strangled voice grew fainter and fainter, I rose up into the sky. The void formation from my hands rose, as they soared into the air, and scattered into crystals, around me, in a ball-like structure. What is happening to me? What's going on? I looked down as crowds of onlookers, stared up at me in disbelief, as I looked over at the Gods and demi-Gods looking at me, with disbelief, anger and weariness. My voice grew weak as my cry for help descended into a whisper, and my eyes rolled back as soon my hands grew weak as the soot shards disappeared, and my body fell limp to gravity as darkness closed in. I fell into rough and warm arms as murmurs and shouts grew fainter and fainter, as soon I felt a presence in the back of my mind, warp over me. The prophecy has been awakened. Rest now little one, and await your destiny.
