"Wake up!" Maeve screams at the top of her lungs. My eyes fly open, and I sit up in bed. I turn to Maeve and look at her blankly. "Good, you're up. I'm hungry." She grabs my hand and pulls me out of bed.
"You couldn't just shake me awake?" I ask, my heart still pounding in my chest. She shakes her head and walks out of the room. It's about a five-minute walk to the dining hall, which isn't too bad.
"Gosh, I'm so hungry I could eat a damn horse." Maeve exclaims, clutching her stomach in agony. I let out a small giggle and continue walking.
"Yes, we're here!" She shouts, drawing the attention of passersby. I apologize to them and gently push her through the door. Maeve immediately rushes over to the pizza station, leaving me standing there alone. Since I've never been here before, I have no idea what to get.
"I highly recommend the sandwich station," a familiar voice behind me comments. I turn around and see Billie grinning with a sandwich in her hand. "They make the best PB&J's that have ever existed." She says, pointing to her plate.
"Thanks, I guess I'll have to try one now." I respond. She winks at me and walks away. I lower my head down, trying to hide the red creeping onto my cheeks. I  make my way over to the sandwich station and get the so called "best" PB&J. I thank the worker and head over to the table where Maeve is sitting. She has about four slices of pizza on her plate.
"This pizza is the best pizza I've ever had in my fucking life." She moans, shoving another bite into her mouth. I slide a couple of napkins over to her. She mouths a thank you and wipes her mouth.
"Anywho, have you made any new friends yet?" Maeve asks, resting her chin on the palm of her hand. I glance over at the table where Billie is sitting and smirk.
"I think so." I say, feeling uncertain. Is she truly my friend, or is she merely being nice to me because she's my partner? I look back over to Maeve, who is putting another piece of pizza in her mouth.
"Sorry." She mutters, widening her eyes.

It's now around 7pm, and I am feeling extremely bored. Maeve went out with some friends from class, leaving me alone in the dorm. I really need to make some friends. I grab my phone and AirPods and walk outside to the benches. The benches are old and wooden, accompanied by small tables nearby. I sit down and open Apple Music, playing "hope ur ok" by Olivia as I drift into a daydream.
A tap on my shoulder returns me back to reality. I remove one of my AirPods out and turn to see Billie staring at me.
"Damn, you stalking me, Billie?" I say sarcastically. She rolls her eyes and plops down next to me.
"No, this has always been my hangout spot since last year," She says, pointing to herself and laughing. "What are you doing, anyways?" Billie asks me.
"I don't even know. I have nothing to do, so I thought I'd come out here." I say, shrugging my shoulders.
"Do you want to hang out?" She smiles and stands up, waiting for me to respond. I nod in agreement and stand up. "Okay let's go." She takes my hand and leads me to her dorm.
Once we arrive, I am welcomed by the aroma of warm vanilla filling up the room.
"Damn you have a single room too! This is really nice." I say, looking around in awe. It is probably the most gorgeous dorm I've ever seen. She has plants everywhere and posters of bands hung all up on the walls.
"Welcome to my lair," Billie laughs, setting down her keys. I smile at her and walk over to her bed. Billie jumps onto the bed and pats the spot next to her. I sit beside her and awkwardly play with my hands. "Wanna watch a movie?" She asks me.
"Yeah, that's fine." I respond. She grabs her laptop and plays "Anyone but You". She lays down and motions for me to do the same. I struggle to contain my nerves. I'm so close to this girl right now that I have no idea what to do. I try to focus on the movie, but I glance over at Billie from time to time. Gosh, she's so pretty.
About halfway through the movie, I turn over and see her peacefully sleeping. I smile and admire her. She has some adorable freckles scattered across her face.
I eventually sneak out of the bed, trying not to wake her. I close her laptop and set it on the desk beside her bed. Then, I return to where she's sleeping, and drape a blanket over her body . "Goodnight, Billie." I whisper before walking out the door.
