"Is there any questions?" Professor Davis asks. The silence is all he needed as a response. "Have a great weekend then." He says. I grab my bag and walk out of the lecture hall. All day, I couldn't stop thinking about last night. Even though we only watched a movie, I felt like I was on top of the world.
I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I grabbed it and looked down to see a text from Billie appear across my lock screen.
"Hey, thanks for keeping me company last night." I smiled and quickly text back, "of course". I couldn't stop staring at the message. Perhaps we could actually become good friends, or maybe I'm just being delusional as usual. My thoughts were interrupted when I accidentally bumped into someone.
"Fuck, I'm so sorry!" I apologize, rushing to grab the papers I had knocked out of their hands.
"It's fine," They reply back, taking the papers back. "What's your name, clumsy?" They laugh.
"It's Lia." I respond, trying not to let the embarrassment take over.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Alissa." She extends her hand out for a handshake. I shake her hand and apologize once more.
"I have to get to class, but maybe I'll see you around." She smiles and walks away.

"Lia, please tell me you're joking," Billie said while laughing. We decided to come to the studio and mess around with some instruments. "That was probably the worst guitar playing I've ever heard in my life." I gasped and clutched my chest at her remark.
"You try then, you hater!" I hand her the guitar and take a seat beside her. I watch as she adjusts herself in the chair and begins to play. I've never been more astonished by anyone than I am right now. Billie is playing the most beautiful instrumental I've ever heard. She finishes playing and sets the instrument down.
"Billie, that was fucking amazing." I say, gazing at her.
"Oh, that was nothing." Billie replies.
"I think we should use that for our project." I suggested. She slightly smiles and turns her chair toward the studio desk. I could tell something was bothering her, but I didn't know what it was. "Hey, we don't have to use it if you don't want to."
"No, it's not that," she starts to say. "It's just that I'm nervous about putting my music out there." She finishes, turning her head to meet my gaze.
"I understand that it can be intimidating, but Billie, you genuinely possess an incredible talent and I'm confident that people would love to hear it someday." I replied, hoping to change her mind. I meant every word I said. If she can nearly bring me to tears with just a guitar, imagine the impact she could have with a whole song.
"Thank you, but it's getting late, and I have an early class tomorrow, so I'm going to head back to my dorm." Billie says, grabbing her backpack and standing up.
"Oh, okay. See you tomorrow?" I ask.
"See you tomorrow." She waves goodbye and walks out of the studio.
