⚠️TW: gas, fainting, locked

————————————————————Matt slid into the driver's seat, the familiar scent of the car's interior greeting him like an old friend. The mix of leather and the faint aroma of the air freshener instantly put him at ease.He reached out and adjusted the camera mounted on the dashboard, ensuring it was angled just right to capture the perfect shot for their next video. The late afternoon sun bathed the car in a warm, golden glow, casting soft shadows and creating an ideal setting.
Matt took a moment to appreciate the serene ambiance, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation for the video they were about to film.
As he settled into the driver's seat, a sudden wave of dizziness hit him. His vision blurred slightly, and a dull headache began to throb at his temples. He blinked rapidly, trying to shake off the feeling, but it clung to him stubbornly. That's when he noticed a faint, strange odor in the air; sharp and chemical, unlike anything he had smelled before. It made his nose wrinkle in discomfort. He strained his ears, trying to pinpoint the source of the unease, and caught the faint sound of a dripping noise coming from outside the car. The combination of the smell and the sound sent a chill down his spine, making him feel even more unsettled. What is going on?
Panic set in as Matt reached for the door handle, but it wouldn't budge. He tried the other doors, but they were all locked. "What the hell?" he muttered, his heart racing. He pounded on the windows, hoping to attract attention, but the smoke was getting thicker, obscuring his view. His breaths came in short, frantic gasps as he realized he was trapped. The acrid smell of the smoke filled his lungs, making him cough. He could feel the heat rising, the air becoming stifling. Desperation clawed at him as he continued to pound on the windows, his fists growing weaker with each hit.
Minutes felt like hours as Matt's breathing became labored, each inhale feeling like a struggle. His chest tightened, and he slumped back in his seat, feeling weaker by the second. The world around him seemed to blur, the edges of his vision darkening. Just when he thought he might pass out, he heard muffled voices approaching the car. The sounds were distant and distorted, but they brought a glimmer of hope. He tried to focus on the voices, clinging to the faint promise of help, but the darkness took over.
"Matt? Matt!" Nick's voice was urgent, filled with fear. He and Chris had just walked downstairs and into the garage when they saw the smoke billowing from the car and their brother slumped inside. Nick fumbled with the car key he had taken from the kitchen, the one Matt had forgotten earlier. His hands were shaking uncontrollably as he tried to fit the key into the lock. The car had locked itself as an emergency mechanism, trapping Matt inside.
"Hold on, buddy, we're coming," Chris added, his tone trying to be reassuring but betraying his own anxiety. The sight of the smoke-filled car and the thought of Matt trapped inside made his heart race. They both knew they had to act fast.
The smoke was so dense now that Nick and Chris could barely see inside the car. They could make out Matt's silhouette, slumped and unmoving, a shadowy figure amidst the thick haze. With a final twist of the key, the doors unlocked, and they yanked them open, coughing as the smoke billowed out in thick, choking clouds.
They reached in, their eyes stinging and watering, and pulled Matt out of the car, laying him gently on the ground far away from the car. His face was pale, and his breathing was shallow, but he was out of the car and safe in their care.
"Matt?" Nick spoke gently, his voice soft and filled with concern. "Wake up, buddy." He gently tapped his brother's cheek, hoping for a response. A couple of minutes passed, each second feeling like an hour, and the two brothers grew increasingly worried. "Come on" Nick continued.
"Should we call an ambu—" Chris started, his voice tinged with panic, but he was cut off as Matt's eyes slowly started to flutter open. "Oh god, he's waking up- thank god" Chris thought out loud, relief washed over them as they saw signs of life returning to their brother.
His eyes fluttered completely open, and he looked around, disoriented. "What... what happened?" he mumbled, his voice weak and shaky. He blinked a few times, trying to clear the fog from his mind, his gaze finally settling on Nick and Chris
"I don't know... there was some sort of gas leak or something in the car. But... you're okay, Matt. Just breathe," Nick said, his voice cracking with emotion. He kept a close eye on Matt, his concern evident in the way he hovered nearby, ready to help at a moment's notice.
Matt's body felt heavy and sluggish, his limbs tingling as if they had fallen asleep. His head throbbed, and his chest felt tight, making each breath a conscious effort. He could see the worry etched on his brothers' faces, their eyes wide with concern.
Chris rubbed Matt's shoulder in a soothing manner, his touch gentle but firm. "We got you, bro. You're safe now," he reassured, his voice steady but his eyes betraying the worry. He stayed close, his hand never leaving Matt's shoulder, offering both physical and emotional support.
Matt took a few more deep breaths, the fresh air helping to clear his head. Nick and Chris slowly helped their brother sit up and gave him a moment to collect himself.
Matt could feel the tension in his body slowly start to ease, but the lingering effects of the gas made him feel weak and disoriented. His brothers' presence, their unwavering attention, and the comfort of their words helped him feel a little more grounded.
"You good bud?" Chris asked. Matt was only able to respond with a small nod.
Nick and Chris exchanged worried glances, their focus never straying far from Matt. They were relieved to see him awake and somewhat coherent, but the fear of what could have happened still lingered in their minds. They stayed close, ready to act if Matt needed anything, their concern for their brother evident in every move they made.
"Maybe we should get you checked out by a doctor just to be sure yk?" Nick offered, as he couldn't shake off the worry in case the gas had gotten into Matt's organs or something.
Matt eventually agreed after some pressure from his concerned brothers. Everything was fine, he just had to take it easy and rest for a couple of days.
