The door to classroom number 15 opened wide and Leo entered. The teacher was already in the classroom and the students were sitting at their desks, so it was obvious that he was late. The boy awkwardly took a seat next to the new student. He quickly unpacked his books from his backpack and opened his notebook.
- Hey.
Leo turned around abruptly. The new student spoke to him. The boy sighed with relief.
- Hey.
- I'm Zane.
- Nice to meet you Zane. I'm Leo. I'll introduce you to my friends during the break. Wait...
Leo looked around. He saw Jack and Charlie sitting together in the middle of the classroom, and Stella and Lily.
- Weird. Theodor didn't show up. He's usually not late.
- Theodor?
- My best friend. He usually shows up first.
Zane nodded, understanding Leo's confusion. The boys continued to look around the classroom.
- Leo! Why aren't you listening?
Leo flinched at the teacher's voice. He slowly turned to him.
- I'm sorry Mr. Wilson. I was busy.
- What's more important than the lesson?
Leo looked under the desk, thinking. "Freddy's, Max and Theo missing, Noah dead, a living murderer, controlled killing machines... There are many things more important than the lesson," he thought. "And yet I still ended up here when I could be saving my friends. However, if I tell what's more important, everything will come out."
- Nothing, Mr. Wilson. I'm sorry.
The teacher nodded in understanding.
- This time I'll let it go, and you'll only get a warning. Next time a negative remark will be inevitable. Do we understand each other Mr. Sanchez?
Leo nodded and opened his textbook. The teacher smiled, and started teaching again.
- Back to the topic, yes, part of a decimal fraction can appear in a common fraction, then it's called a mixed fraction. However, this is rare, so we will not be talking about this in the coming months.
Leo could not concentrate during the entire lesson. He kept thinking about all the situations that started at the beginning of the holidays. He could feel William Afton's eyes on him, hiding somewhere in the darkness. He knew what awaited him. He was going to kill him a second time. For the last time. But how?
Finally, the lesson ended. Leo packed all his things, and before he left, the teacher called him. The boy reluctantly approached the teacher.
- I wanted to talk to you.
Leo pulled up a chair and sat down comfortably. He put his black backpack with white lettering next to the seat.
- We know each other quite well and - the teacher paused for a moment to choose the right words. - Something is wrong. I can see that you are behaving much differently than in June, when you were last in middle school. Is something bothering you?
Leo did not answer. He felt terrible. He could not admit it to the teacher, not yet. Suddenly, the man asked a question that froze the blood in the boy's veins.
- Is this about Theodore and Noah?
Leo didn't want to think about it. He didn't want to think about those events. Unfortunately, the teacher reminded him of everything. After a long silence, Leo answered.
- I'm nervous about them, but yes, it's all good.
- Are you sure? You know you can tell me anything.
- I'm sure.
Leo left the classroom. He had had enough of this. He wanted to leave school. He wanted...
- Backpack!
Leo turned around. Mr. Wilson was holding the boy's backpack in his hand. The kid slowly walked over and took the backpack he almost forgot.
- Just remember that I'm here for you. And for the other students. I haven't revealed any secrets yet.
Leo nodded and left. He wanted to talk to his friends as soon as possible. If they still want to talk to him, and they don't think it's his fault. "I hope they still have some sense," Leo thought and finally reached the classroom.
