Back on the Isle, Maleficent was getting ready to launch her mission. Nothing would stop her from getting her daughter back. Her evil daughter that is. Even if she never did anything right, it was better when she was trying to be evil and wasn't married to her enemy's son.

"Does everyone know the plan?" she asked one last time.

"Invade the castle, kidnap Mal, erase her memory." one of the goblins said.

"Only if she refuses to go with us." Maleficent reminded him. Then Gaston came running into the room with a worried look on his face. "What is it now Gaston?" she asked, annoyed with the man.

"The dome. It's closing again. If we wait, we won't be able to get out." he answered. Maleficent's face was surprised and then mad.

"That daughter of your's told the king about our plan!" she roared at the Evil Queen.

"My daughter hasn't been here since she left with your daughter along with the other two." the Evil Queen replied. Maleficent had seen Evie run off and had tried to tell the Evil Queen but she refused to listen.

"She did! We leave now." Maleficent commanded. They ran out of the room and to the end of the Isle. Sure enough, the dome was closing. They quickly ran out and onto the gold street that connected the Isle to Auradon. They raced into the kingdom where people screamed and ran in fear. When they reached the land, Maleficent took the lead and they quickly walked to the palace. When they arrived at the door, the guards tried to lock and shut it but Maleficent had her magic and busted the door down. They all invaded and went right up to the room where Ben and Mal were.

Mal had fallen asleep but didn't have good dreams. She dreamed of her mother kidnapping her then killing Ben in front of her very own eyes. Then she dreamed of forgetting her memory and trying to kill Ben herself. She jolted awake and Ben looked at her worriedly.

"Just bad dreams." she told him. She curled back up beside him but soon they were both sitting up as Maleficent bursted into the room with her army of goblins. The Evil Queen was on the porch and Jafar and Gaston walked out of the side room.

"I thought the dome was locked." Ben said. His grip on Mal tightened and she held onto him as well. She knew she couldn't let her mother take her memory which meant she needed to go with her willingly. She just didn't want to think about that.

"It is now. Which means we are locked out of our Isle. At least, until I blast a hole in the stupid dome and close it back up so you and your petty hero friends can't come after us." Maleficent replied. "Now, Mal darling, since you have done well and completed you mission, you can come home. We have all the information we need." Of course! Maleficent knew that Mal would come willingly if it meant not losing her memory of Ben. So she had to phrase it so Mal would look bad. Ben looked at Mal as she got up, confused as to why she was so willingly going to leave. She reluctantly walked over to her mother and Ben felt deceived. He didn't recognize Maleficent's evil plot as well as Mal did. Maleficent held Mal's hand tightly so she couldn't leave.

"I'm sorry, Ben." Mal said. Then her mom used magic to make them reappear on the Isle. As soon as she was gone, Ben processed everything. He had been tricked. Tricked into loving Maleficent's daughter so she could get all the information of his weaknesses out of him. If Maleficent had that, she could easily overthrow him and rule the kingdom. And he had fallen for the trick. He felt so stupid. Evie ran into the room and when she didn't see Mal she got worried.

"Where's Mal?" she asked.

"You mean the girl of deceit? She left. She took all my secrets with her and went back home willingly." Ben answered. Evie knew that Mal would do anything to keep her memory of Ben, even if it meant leaving Ben willingly, but she didn't know how to explain this to him. If she told him it was her mother's fault, he probably wouldn't believe her. The way Maleficent had phrased it sounded too good to be fake.

"Ben, she had to. If she didn't, her mother would erase her memory and she'd have gone back to the way she was before. Evil." Evie explained. But Ben shook his head.

"No. Do you know what Maleficent said? She said that Mal had done her job correctly at getting my secrets. That her work was done and now they can take over. She used me, Evie!" he yelled.

"It's Maleficent! If she's good at one thing it's making lovers hate each other. What did Mal say before she left and don't say nothing because that's not Mal." she replied.

"She said she was sorry. She looked like what she said was sincere but then again--"

"It was! Ben you need to get her back!" Evie exclaimed. Ben pointed to the door and demanded she leave. She sadly left and Ben started thinking. She was pretty worried when she told him about Maleficent. And he could see in her eyes the regret she had when she left and the sincerity about her apology. Maybe Evie was right. There was only one way to find out...
