Ella
Preparing the desserts wasn't as pleasing since Andrew couldn't keep his hand out of the bowls. I finally yelled "Stop it!", walking to him and slapping his hand away from the desserts, hard enough the sting but gentle enough to not hurt. He rolled his brown eyes and brushed his dark hair back. Andrew had the darkest features between all of us, and the most unserious humor too, he was diffrent. "Fine. Calm down." He leaned back against the counter, "he wont be here until 9pm. You're okay." he reassured. As much as he annoyed me, he was always my favorite brother growing up. I let out a soft sigh and stopped, letting my hands fall to my sides. "What's wrong?" Andrew whispered, "overwhelmed?" I nodded in response and he stood up straight "I'll help then" he said as he started doing the dishes, making me smile slightly. "Okay" I whispered back.
Everything was perfect. The desserts on the table, I was planning on making Alex's birthday cake but Victoria insisted that she would get it on the way and that I have done enough. Me and Andrew stood beside each other and stared at our table for 2 minutes straight, making sure we didn't miss anything. "Are you sure?" I asked for the 3rd time "I'm sure" he nodded.
The door bell rang and me and Andrew rushed to the door only to realize it's just dad, but I opened the door and hugged him. We showed him what we did and he patted Andrew on the back telling him how proud he was for helping me. I was never patted on the back before, even though I did the most work, I jut fidgeted with my fingers and stood to the side. "I'm pleased with you both" dad said after he realized I was staring at them.
The bell rang again, Alex and Victoria walked in this time, I ran and hugged him "happy birthday" I said excitedly. He wasn't exactly smiling but his green eyes were soft as he hugged me and Andrew both. We sat down and celebrated but I couldn't help but wonder where Noah was and why he wasn't here yet. It was late.
I talked to Victoria for the most part, she had short black hair, brown eyes and a contagious smile. Dad and my brothers were talking together at the dinner table so we decided to sit on the front porch of our house. She smiled at me "no boys?", I shaked my head "no boys". She sat beside me "you can tell me, I won't tell Alex." She reassured, which made me smile. Do people really think I care what my brothers think? "I don't think he would mind anyway", she shakes her head "he would." I sighed in response "well I don't have any boy problems at the moment" Victoria nodded "when you do, call me. Okay?" I smiled and nodded "okay."
Someone cleared his throat making us look up, we stood up instantly when we saw that it was Noah. "Boy problems?" He darted his hazel eyes at both of us, I couldn't answer because Damien's grey eyes held me captive. The embarrassing moments drowning me. "Me and Alex's, don't mention it though" Victoria covered it up. I finally managed to look away from Damien and the pasted annoyed expression on his face. She then grabbed my arm and pulled me away from the door so that they could go in, and they did without asking any more questions. I sighed in relief.
"Happy birthday to you.." we sang, but Alex refused to blow out the candles on his birthday cake, so Victoria did it for him and he kissed her on the cheek, making me smile. I loved them. I was also standing in the corner because I wanted to take pictures of important moments like these. I closed my eyes and yawned, wiping my tears of tiredness when Damien stood beside me "tears of joy?" I shook my head "I'm tired" he sighed and slid his hands in his pockets "when are you not?".
Seriously? Does he always have to make every conversation into an argument?
"god you're so predictable." I whispered, he smiled and looked down, why is he smiling? "Ella," I didn't move. "you're my least favorite in the Evolla family" he admitted as if I didn't know that. As if it didn't hurt even though I didn't care. "So if you think I won't annoy you in any way, you're underestimating me". I wish I could tell him I didn't care. I'm no one first priority anyway, but instead I felt a sharp pain in my stomach that made me wince, I grabbed my stomach and crouched down, feeling a hand on my back. I knew who the hand belonged to but I didn't bother to make sure.
"I'm fine." I let out a shaky breath. Boys will never understand this feeling. I wish I could tell my mom about period pains but she wouldn't care. Before I knew it, everyone was surrounding me and I felt embarrassed. Humiliated. Victoria understood as soon as I looked at her, making her rush to my side helping me up to my room. I didn't even bother to look at anyone, especially Damien.
